Kind of shocked!

  • Hi, What did you lose your first week? If you remember!

    I started at 244.2 on 7/30, 2 days ago, I decided to weigh in this morning, I wasn't expecting what I saw.....239.4

    I am not on any particular plan per se. I watch my calories and carbs. I drink at least 100 oz of water a day. I started Friday, had a blt w/egg (turkey bacon, whole wheat bread, and egg beaters) for breakfast, caesar salad (romaine lettuce, tomato, cucumber, croutons, grilled chicken) for lunch, seasoned chopped steak with a salad for dinner. Yesterday, blt wrap (turkey bacon, egg beaters) for breakfast, banana snack, chipotle chicken salad (lettuce, tomatoes, green pepper, scallions, cucumbers, croutons, grilled chipotle chicken)for lunch, meatloaf (egg, green pepper, onion, bread crumbs) and roasted cauliflower (parm cheese, olive oil) for dinner.

    I am just really shocked! Of course I am happy, just wondering how everyone else lost in their first week.
  • I lost 13 pounds my first week. I think the beginning is usually more water weight than fat.
  • I started 2 weeks ago... I lost 8 pounds the first week and 5 the second.
  • Wow, both of you had an awesome start! I know most of it is water, feels great to get rid of that extra weight. I started TOM today, so that was another reason, I was shocked! Don't you normally retain water during this time, making you gain or stay the same? I won't question it! LOL Can't wait to weigh in on Friday.
  • I lost 2 pounds my first week. Heh...guess I didn't have that much water.
  • I don't remember exactly, but it was in the realm of 10-15 lbs. I lost 6 or 7 my first DAY. However, I also started blood pressure meds that day that are a diuretic, so a really good portion of that was water.
  • PudgyGirl - I also tend to lose during TOM, but I think we're definitely in the minority! I lost about 4lbs the first week...congrats to you, you're off to a great start!
  • I think mine was like 7 or 8 the first week, 15 the first two weeks! Man, those were the days. Now I'm down to the good ole fashioned .5 to 1lb a week.....

  • It is very interesting to see everyones response. The amount for some of you is amazing! My goal for the month was to lose 15 lbs. It would be great to see that in 2 weeks! I am happy just to see the scale going down. It is the best feeling!
