Ready to Get Back on Plan After 3 1/2 Months Off Plan.

  • Ready to Get Back on Plan After 3 1/2 Months Off Plan. I found out my Dad has Cancer so had trouble staying on Plan. Plus, my husband keeps bugging my about what I eat and how much I exercise. I know he meant well. But having a Food Cop and Exercise Cop wasn't working. Well My Dad had surgery and is doing better. Tonight I will plan my menu for Monday. I wasn't feeling well today so decided to start tomorrow. I haven't eaten much today. Any ideas so I stick better with my plan? I have gone to the gym 3x this last week. I know Planning is a key element.
  • Welcome back

I'm so sorry to hear about your dad.

I think the best way to make sure you stay on plan is to figure out exactly why you fell off the wagon, and to figure out exactly what you need to do to make sure it doesn't happen again. I know your dad got sick, and you had no control over it, but you did have control over you and need to remember to worry about yourself before/along with others, even those who mean the most to you. Just think, if you aren't the best you can possibly be, then you are doing the others you love an injustice too
  • Sorry to hear about your dad, fingers crossed he's well on the mend though.
Good luck egtting back into the weight thing' and as your ticker says just keep going! xx
  • They took out the cancerous tumor. Before the surgery they said it hadn't spread.

I got started doing better with my eating and I'm down a little with my weight. Probably, just water weight. My Mom and Dad are worried about my weight. The first thing my Dad said to me when he was off the heavy pain killers that made him loopy. Was I need to lose weight and stop making excuses. So I felt guilty for making them worry. So that should help with the overeating.
  • Welcome back!!

And glad to hear you dad did well with the surgery.

For getting back on track, you just have to put one foot in front of the other and keep going. If you weigh in daily, come join that thread - lots of good support to help get through the inevitable (for most of us, anyway) ups and downs.
  • So sorry to hear about your Dad. Prayers for him to heal quickly and completely.

My plan is all in my head. lol
I just made up my mind that the way I was eating was horrible. My whole family changed tho so that makes it easier on me. I would just tell hubby that you know he loves you and that he is trying to help, but this something you need to do. Good Luck!!
