  • I had my second WI this evening and only lost 1.2#, but 4 more inches. She thought eating the ham that had been injected likely had an impact on my loss. Also I lost 7.6 my first week, so my lower second week wasn't surprising.

I too think that the mental aspect of losing weight is the most important. If your mind is right, everything else will fall in place. The alternate is true also, that if you mind isn't in it, the plan won't work. I cleaned my house out of all the foods that I knew would tempt me and I don't watch the food channel or my magazines that have food articles in them.

This really is a lifestyle, because to keep the weight off, my diet will always have to be modified from what it was in the past.

MuayThaiGoddess - Even if you drop to 3# a week, that is phenominal!
What plan do you know otherwise where you would consistently lose that much weight?

Happy St. Patrick's Day to all.
  • Stacerp...I love peeps, too.
Applebee's should not be allowed to have commercials on TV!!!!!
Now that stuff looks good. Luckily I have to drive a ways to get to one.
What are you guys thinking about when you go off the diet? My DH and I have talked about it some. We are thinking that we will pick one night a week to have a nice dinner(either out or in) and pick whatever we want to eat. The rest of the time we will try to maintain healthy eating habits with lots of veggies and small amounts of meat. Just wondering what you all are thinking.

  • Hope you win a lot of money to pay for all those skinny clothes!!!
  • thanks
    Quote: WooHoo Goddess... .

I am only down 7.8 lbs. for 2 weeks. Don't have my 3rd weigh in till Friday morning. So, you are already ahead of me. But, I am not having any issues with fatigue and headache. It is strange how some people do and some don't. I am also on bootcamp. I have to travel in the car quite a bit right now(let me tell you there aren't many bathrooms on the road in Wyoming!!!), so I take the vinegar crisps with me. I just need one every so often so curb the hunger and/or headache. A package lasts me 2-3 hours. So, I end up eating about 2 pkgs a week. On those days it is my snack. That is the only thing I eat that isn't on the bootcamp list.
Thanks for the congrats, sometimes I don't think I ever step back and congratulate myself- I just start looking at the next goal I have to accomplish- like there is no time for that. I guess I should. Bootcamp sucks but I want to stay on it to maximize my weightloss, I guess for that reason only- I'm not exactly savoring it... I'm 24 so I guess I'm fairly young- and yeah- I'm up for a challenge anytime! ha! The Wii sounds cool I want one, but I think I would want to kick the TV screen if it told me I was up a little that day- are there alot of good exercises on it? I used to be a personal trainer before I had my son ( hence my disdain at being this weight) and I'm used to being the one motivating others not the one needing to be motivated, but i can't go to the gym 5-6 days a week for 3 hours a day like I used to so I'm looking for alternative methods. I've got a running stroller- but I'm working up to that- i might be able to start jogging but just brisk walks and my muai thai classes and judo are about to start back up for me.

It is true about 3 pounds being a significant amount- i know but I have in the past with alot of physical exercise lost 3 pounds in a week and keeping a strict diet- but if i lose more it atleast gives me a reason to convince myself that all of this is worth WHAT ITS DOING TO MY TRAINING!! Anyone ever try to do muay thai kickboxing with 5 carbs in your system? its torture! and i can't give it up. but its true and i have to get this weight off because it will help me train in the long run but the faster I can get some better fuel to train with the better but i need to be patient- in the end you are right. THREE POUNDS A WEEK WOULD STILL BE WORTH CELEBRATING. I just want more.... grrr
  • cinnamon sparkles
    Thanks Cinnamon Sparkles!

You're so nice and WOWWY look at those stats!! I'm glad you found some of my writing funny- I'm actually starting to write a book about my life- yes its been that crazy- Hollywood's got nothing on me!
It's good to hear that someone else has suffered with feeling like UBER CRAP on this- and it took until week 3 to feel better. I started saying- "well I was always exhausted anyways before- so I might as well feel like $#@& and be losing weight..." ha, but I was kind of looking forward to having more energy. So now I will be looking forward to week 3! And I know exactly what youre talking about when you say you have motivation because you never want to feell like that again- I used to be on copious amounts of pain meds for my migraines(specialists didn't know what else to do eventually) and I finally came off when I got seratonin toxicity and it was the WORST 3 MONTHES OF MY LIFE, and i make sure now that i never get back to that point- so I never ever ever have to feel that way again- I'll extrapolate that situation into this one. I'm really determined to not have any cheats or slip-ups either- maybe I'm setting the bar too high but I think its important to have goals and to start strong, or I'd be done already. You get somewhere alot faster taking the freeway then going down a busy road with stop lights- so if my body has to keep stopping and going I think it will take longer, dontcha think? I sometimes have a cup of coffee- not decaf- i wasn't informed that was important. i think i had one or two this wweek with a teaspoon of splenda. can i not have any caffeine at all? really? And it is SOOOO funny you mentioned Athena- the Goddess of War- I've had 4 or 5 people relate me to her before- very amusing indeed. I can see why youre a fav on here! Thanks so much, it was very encouraging! Oh and by the way, for some reason- my weight flucuated and I went UP a pound today I WAS SO PIST - but i ended up with 9 pounds lost and 9 inches lost. not a bad start. I hope i have a good second week!!

Hi, MTG, As long as you've saved your ticker on your signature page (down at the bottom of the page), you shouldn't ever have to copy and paste. It just magically appears every time you post.
  • Goddess, Yes the Wii is fun. There is a little bit of eveything on it. But....my scale said I went down 1 1/2 lbs. today and the little guy on Wii said I went up 1/2 lb. Not a big deal, just frustrating!!! There are games for balance, aerobics, training and lots more. I do most of mine in the morning, then DH and I do some in the evenings, too. You can set goals and keep track of calories burned and time spent excersizing. It is way better than the treadmill, although I still walk on it too, occassionally. Our winters are just too long. We still have snow, you know. My daughter is 25, so that tells you where I fit in the age scheme of things. I have the big 55 coming up the end of the month.
Hope everyone is having a great day. Supposed to be in the 60's here today. Going to spend some time outside today before we get more snow tomorrow.
  • Good Morning everyone! Just popping on before work to wish you all a beautiful day and a Happy St Patrick's Day. This is the first year since I became legal to drink, that there will be no green beer for me. Oh well, next year I can celebrate with a a green beer and a smokin hot bod

Yes I wouldlike to know what happens when you get off this diet . Do you still have to ea the same and use the products still ? Or do you just eat healthy with no Ideal protin packets . Im a little nervous about when I get off this . I do not want to gain the weight back ! Does anyone know what happens in phase 4?
  • Thank you to someone, blanking on who now, who last week cleared up what NSV means, I was confused too. And because of that my first NSV. I was getting ready for work this morning, and annoyed, can you imagined annoyed that my pants were too big!!!! So I thought well, I'll iron them a gain, maybe get a few wrinkles out and they'll look a little better. I went into the office where I keep the iron & board, and happened to glance into the closet, light bulb went off!!! I have all these work clothes I haven't worn in years, a mix between them being too small at the time, or too big when I lost weight a few years ago. Pulled out a pair of pants, and couldn't remember why I'd put them in there. Tried them on, they fit awesome, must have been because they were too small, and they were Express, not a brand I'm crazy about anymore, but their sizes at the time did run fairly small, so yay!!!

It's strange to realize I'd forgotten about a whole closet full of suits, and I'll be able to have fun trying them all on now, though hopefully not forever as soon they'll be too big too.
  • Out last evening to a dinner and concert. Had salmon for dinner but while everyone drank wine I drank 2 glasses of diet coke. I have never really liked diet soda but it was that or wine--just couldn't sit there with water. After the concert when everyone had more wine, I did have water. Today I am up more than a pound. Has to be what everyone has said about that lousy aspertame. Restaurants need to start serving the diet soda with splenda...
Perfect the whole day and screwed it up with 2 lousy drinks. I will really try to not make that mistake again.
Babs181- I loved your closet story. I describe mine as "a museum". I have
clothes from size 8 to size 16-- some of the 8s are from a long time ago-- suits from work and from when I met my husband. Lucky you to find some pants that fit so perfectly. I have had the experience of having pants that were too small BUT then they are too big-- missed them somehow in my closet. So annoying not to get to wear them on the way down...Nothing feels better than clothes that aren't too tight and fit you well.
Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone. Enjoy the cabbage but not the CB!!!
