  • Quote: Marie~Yes, I'm pretty sure they're 10 pound bags, but I'll double check. And that's not all my DH has done in the line of poop duty. Once we were on a walk and our ever dependable Buddy pooped not once, not twice and not three times but FOUR times. We only had three bags with us and we had already filled them and thrown them into the appropriate receptacles. Well, we finished our walk and DH went back to the little park area where we had been and spent half an hour picking up all the poop he could find. Yeah, he's a keeper!
Definitely a keeper! My DH can't even look when I'm picking up the poop if he's accompanying me on a walk with a dog on the weekends. I think that's one of the big reasons he doesn't want me to get a dog - he's poo phobic !

  • LOL poo phobic!
  • Dagmar - poo phobic - way too funny. When I used to be in HR and had to terminate someone or I didn't hire someone that thought they were the ideal choice, I'd think about how pleased they'd be to see me pooper-scooping every day after work. Truly with 4 doggies, it's a never ending process. Especially when they like to christen a clean yard.

Allison, your DH is goes beyond the call of duty - definitely a keeper.

I'm thinking the thread has gone to the dogs...

  • Hi everyone, just checking in. I am still waiting on my liver transplant. Although I am feeling a little better (and look less jaundiced for now).

I'm sure by the time I have my surgery and recovery that I'll be needing to be back in the weight Loss chat (more than here in Maintainers). I'm just too tired and am being very much house-bound right now.

I'm sure my weight is probably up by 10 lbs. or so right now, and I really am still watching what I eat. It's too depressing for me to get on a scale right now. (massive steroids and lack of exercise is really making weight maintenance impossible for me at this point).

I hope everyone else is doing great. I miss you all.
  • Hi Lily! It's wonderful to hear from you again. Now isn't the time to worry about your weight. Just focus on your transplant and healing! Once you're better, you'll have your energy back and getting rid of a few pounds will be a (pardon the phrase!) piece of cake.

Take care of yourself and check in whenever you can to let us know how you're doing. You have a lot of friends here who really care about you and want to hear how you are.
  • Lily! We've all been thinking of you and hope that you're doing well. Take care and keep in touch! Best wishes for a speedy transplant and recovery!
  • Thinking of you, Lily.
  • Soooo glad to see you Lily and I hope Bargoo sees this. Still praying every day. I could hardly believe it when I saw you posted.

I did see this, I also got am IM from her and thanked her for responding and assuring her that we all wish her well .
  • Wonderful to see you posting, Lily. I hope you get that liver transplant soon--you're in my thoughts.

Michele, how was the visit to the eye doctor? I'm hoping for good news for you.

    Dagmar, poo phobic--that's good!

Allison, what a great DH you have.

Taxes--what a pain in the patootie. I've had to go down to the tax guy's office twice now with more information. Still don't know why I had to bring him the 2007 taxes today. Hhmm, maybe the previous tax people made a terrible error, the new guy will amend the previous returns, and I'll get thousands of dollars back! Well, I can dream, can't I?

Hope everyone is having a great Wednesday. It's sunny, but cold here.
  • Hi Lily,
I'm so glad you checked in, too. How are the girls? And your son?
  • Lily-- so glad you posted!! We have been so worried about you. I hope you get the transplant soon. Just take good care of yourself.

Sheila-- thanks for asking. The eye doctor was doing the tests and then sending the results to the specialist so I'll have to wait to see his opinion. However, the doctor today felt the results weren't too bad and doesn't think anything needs to be done now. I hope the specialist agrees.

My dd is home for spring break and we are having major stress with her again over her boyfriend that she broke up with. Apparently she took him back shortly after the breakup and didn't tell us. My dh is so upset. There is so much more to this than I care to say in a public forum, but suffice it to say that he is not a good person for her to be involved with. We are praying she can come to that conclusion too. She says we've never let her make her own mistakes/decisions and she wants to be able to do so. At this point she says she is going to tell him that she wants to "take a break" for a year so she can look at things more objectively. However, I don't know if that is just the pressure from us because then she talks to him and he says all of the right things and she trusts him again. Sigh..... I am an optimist and dh is a pessimist and the two are not working well with this situation......
  • Lily1 Os good to hear from you!!!I have been thinking of you...I agree with Meg: at this point in time your health is the most important thing. And please don't think you cannot be in the maintiners forum...if you have regained a little of what you lost before, you are still a maintainer or the forum would be empty!
I hope all is well with your family, the girls, your son, your grandkids, and that you will be feeling better,

  • Hey Lily! Everyone else has already said but it's good to hear from you. Just concentrate on getting through your liver transplant and recovery.

    We're all for you

  • Morning all,

It's a stormy Thursday here. Blech. BF's fishing season has finally started, as it begins around spring break every year, and he's playing his fun game of "dodge the weather" already. I had a GREAT workout yesterday, though I did stupidly leave my piece of lasagna at work so I had to scrounge in my car and eat what I could find, pb on wheat crackers, to get me through my 2 hour rehearsal after workout before I could get home to more lasagna. I tried to hold out and see if I could make it without, but I was starving and shaky. Oh well, I did the best I could and I won't forget my dinner today!

Hi Lily!!! I'm so glad to hear from you. We've missed you around here. I'm glad to hear that your holding your own, but sorry you have to deal with the boredom of being cooped up in the house. I hope your girls and Shane are doing ok, too. I hope your transplant comes soon.

Michele, sorry to hear about the ongoing frustrations with DD & this guy. Is he back in the US or still overseas?

Sheila, I'm hoping your "tax dream" comes true! Don't we all wish that we were owed lots of money in error.

Thank goodness Lily posted and saved this thread from the poop!
