  • Today is one. Going to see how many days I can work out without missing a day. DH is big on a planned rest day but my rest days tend to run together, so I'm not taking a day off, just a day easy - probably Sunday. so... one!
  • Definitely work in some variety. Maybe yoga or mild aerobic exercise every 4th day?

Can't wait to see all the days add up! Go girl!
  • I'm starting to HATE days off.

I'm almost always get in 5 days... but I hate having to wait a day between C25k workouts and wait a day between lifting-- I try to schedule my swim days on the every other...

But, is there really a problem with working out every day?

Personally, I don't think so - I do try to listen to my body and not push myself that hard it I'm too tired or hurting. But I generally feel better at least warming up with a bit of cardio and then doing some stretching, even if I don't do more than that.

I do think you have to take rest days in between strength training, but I don't think a rest day has to mean you don't do any purposeful activity, even if it's taking a walk or something, as opposed to a more high intensity activity.
  • Good going, Traci!

I've got 7 days so far (I think I had a couple more at the tail end of Jan, but I don't remember so I'm trying to just go for every day in February and see what happens)
  • I exercise every single day every year. I take Christmas day off but that is it. I have been at this since 27 Oct 2008...every single day... and yes, I listen to my body and only push as hard as it will let me...usually an hour a day, sometimes 45 minutes but never less than that!

Keep at it ladies!!!! Your bodies will thank you for it!!!

Well, that's good to know. I'm not going to take days off anymore unless I have to.
  • Good Luck!!! I too wanna workout EVERYDAY without a day off...
I think Richard Simmons said on one of his videos... if you EAT everyday, then you WORKOUT everyday...
Good luck.. I'm right there with ya!!
  • Good luck to you - I try to do something every day. Some days arent as intense!
  • DAY TWO!!! 35 minutes on my bike on the trainer in the basement. Whoo - I worked up quite a sweat! Good luck to everybody on an exercise streak!
  • Be sure to add your minutes to the February Exercise Thread!!
  • Lots of folks exercise every day. Some folks alternate working different parts of the body (muscle areas) on different days so that their muscles won't get sore. Enjoy!
  • First of all, happytobeamomof2 - WOW! On your exercise streak, your weight loss, and your supercool avatar. I so wanna bogart that.

Hey Traci, can I play too? I MADE myself exercise yesterday, and I'd like to build that determination into a streak. (Even though I love it, it's so hard to fit it in sometimes, and it was so COLD that I could barely bring myself to walk across the parking lot to the gym.)

I'm on Day 3 - or will be when I exercise tonight. Look out, happytobe - I'm starting to string some days together to rival your streak!
  • Jump in, LaurieDawn! It's amazing to me how much difference posting something on here can make in my attitude. It becomes another good reason to do what I know I should be doing in the first place.

And here's the thing - I half slipped on the ice leaving work yesterday and caught myself - you know how you do that? Then I woke up this morning with a big pain in my left thigh. Oh no! On day two! So I laid on the couch for half an hour with a heating pad on hoping it would feel better. It didn't. So I got up and got my cooking done for the rest of the week, had lunch, and decided SCREW IT! Not quitting on day two! And my leg hurt much less after riding the bike than it did before. So how many of my excuses aren't even reasonable? How many things that I "oh can't exercise today" for would actually be better if I'd just shut up and do it??? *sigh* Do you think I'll ever learn????
  • Well, I was on my way out the door to the gym for a swim when I realized it was already snowing too hard...

Decided to leap right into C25k Week Four Day One. Was sort of a questionable choice since I did Week 3 Day 3 yesterday and it was mildly sucky, I was sort of tired last night.

Anyway-- I did Week 4 Day One and I MADE IT THROUGH NO PROBLEM. I'm SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!
