This really hits home for me!!!! I am experiencing that too, Mmckellen. Part (but only part) of why I named my blog Waisting Time. I have always been a pear, and still am. But when I had reached my goal weight last summer (since gained back half) I was shocked at how much fat was still on my belly. And my old pants fit in the butt but were tight in the waist. Used to be my butt was always my problem area. No more. My mother has complained about post-menopausal belly fat for years.
I saw a segment on the Today show yesterday that talked about insulin's impact on belly fat. The guy was, of course, selling his book. He suggested that you cut out as much sugar as possible; it would be more impactful than cutting out fat.
When I am back at my goal again, and staying there
I am going to see if Cyndi's idea works for me. I have always heard that you can't reduce this with exercise because that only firms the abs below. Sigh.
