I "ran" this marathon in November. I use quotes because I walked a good bit of it but I had a good time. Why am I telling you about this now? Mostly to googlespam the Race Director (a friend) now that I know he gets email whenever we talk about his marathon.

Oh, but if you do reply to this post I suggest telling me what processed food you like and eat regularly. He really digs that. The more processed the better.

Seriously, it is an awesome marathon, very small, very hilly, very friendly and with spectacular support. And a finish line buffet that would constitute food porn. Probably the most fun I have ever had for that long of a time period.

Hmmm....I'd like to do a half, not a full, and I suppose it is WAY far away, since you're on the other coast.

Velveeta and vienna sausages....yumm....

Actually it is in Nashville. They are talking about adding a shorter distance maybe. But it certainly isnt a good first event.

A buffet at the end of a marathon?....Sure didn't feel like eating after the one I did....no ~ no ~ NO!....

Another reason I stick to those 5K's with a beer garden at the end....

Excellent beer and pumpkin pie made by Monkey Trent. Oddly, pumpkin pie after a marathon is both easy to eat and satisfying.

It'll be great for Harpeth Hills Flying Monkey Marathon to have a Harpeth Hills Flying Monkey 5K Marathon option.

Now that is good news!
