Can you mix proteins?!?

  • I'm sure this has been dicussed before, but I have not come accross it. I just want to know if I can mix my proteins, like I dont want just chicken and lettuce for lunch. Can I put some eggs and cheese in it? I know I would have to use smaller portions of each, but how does it come out? One egg equals 2oz protein? I know there are a lot of question marks but I need help. Thanks so much!!!
  • i think you can do one egg and one ounce of cheese
  • Sure you can mix proteins. I do parmesean crusted chicken and fish...just be sure you subtract the ammounts correctly, and don't overdo the cheese. It's got more fat that other proteins.
  • I was told you can't mix groups. You can divide the 4 to 6 oz. of meat, fish into what ever way you want, as long as it is in the same food group. Don't know why though?
  • I had been having "leftover" chicken & fish together at meals (when I cook chicken, fish, steak, etc it's never exactly in 4 ounce portions so there is always extra.) When one of the counselors saw that she recommended that I not do that because it can slow down your progress. I don't know why but that is what she said.

That is exactly what I was doing that that is exactly what my center told me! Weird that it would slow you down?!?!
  • Thats is really weird. I guess I need to stop all that then. Dang it!
  • Weird....I was told you can mix proteins at my center! Ugh....every center seems so different! I also use Walden Farms products b/c I was told I could. Some people say their centers don't let you. I've never had a prob w/using them, though.
