My New Motivation

  • I went to school originally to be a stylist, I have yet to get my state board license, I'm going for that in september.

But I'm thinking of only working part time, and going back to school...to be....

    a registered dietician!

I was considering this after reading an article about "Should health care professionals be fit" on sparkpeople.com

and I thought god, I am so INTO this, I should be a RD! And now here I am talking to a friend this morning (my only real life serious diet buddy) and she says to me, "I Think I know what I want to go to back to school for. I want to be a registered dietician!" HAHAHA

This is kind of funny, but I think I really want to do this.

my mental health makes working and school difficult, but I"m more stable now than I have ever been. So here's to hoping!

and I DO NOT WANT TO BE A FAT DIETITIAN! So, my new motivation is that i"m going to start school in either january or next fall and by then I hope to be well on my way, or at goal.

  • That is absolutely fantastic! We so need dietitians who know what a craving/weightlossissue feels like! Great decision!
  • That sounds awesome! And you are way ahead of the game because you already know so much. It amazes me how much more I know about this stuff than the average person!
  • That is great! That is totally something you can do!

I've been thinking about that and a fitness trainer, no market for it up here but I've been taking a Fitness and Nutrition distance course (I thought it would help me learn and stay on track, it does for the most part) and it makes me very interested in the field.

    Good luck!
  • Good luck! I hope you like chemistry.

While taking a nutrition class, my prof. stated that there is no scientific evidence for food being an addiction. I would love to know what you find out through your coursework.
  • I think that's malarky. :P

    hehe
  • Good luck!!! Sounds like alot of fun and very interesting XD
  • Sounds great to me- and I agree- losing the weight will make you look even better- I'd have a before and after picture of you in your office- it'd show your clients that you have been there and got through it!

    Good luck
  • That's great! What a fabulous goal!
  • I think that is a terrific idea! My daughter who is about to be a senior in high-school is taking three nutrition and food science classes this year. I can't wait to hear what she can teach me.
  • This is wonderful!! I wish you nothing but success. Keep us posted

It's very possible that FOOD, pure clean simple food, isn't addictive. The stuff they put in food nowadays, though--I'd believe that stuff is addictive!

OP--go for it! We'll cheer you on.
