So I went grocery shopping last night. I spent 100$ for the month. Less than I have spent in....I Dont even know when, if ever. Everyone told me eating vegetarian was expensive, but I guess that is because they buy tons of 4$ boxes of fake meat burgers instead of 4$ on 2 lbs of red peppers!
I bought:
4.5 lbs of black beans
2-3 lbs of chickpeas
1 lb of nutritional yeast
2 lbs of vital wheat gluten
for 30$.
the rest was spent on, red peppers, sweet potatoes, strawberries, bananas, pears, zucchini, broccoli, brown rice, wheat pasta, tofu, and nuts and seeds and I"m sure some things I'm forgetting.
A normal grocery trip including meat and 'quick foods' cost us anywhere from 200-300$ for the month. My veggie friends are crazy! haha!
I have never eaten this healthy in my life and I feel amazing.
yay.
