  • Are you ladies counting calories, or what are you doing to keep your pregnancy weight gain so low?

I have had three, and I am all for a healthy pregnancy, but just a word of caution that you shouldn't be purposely trying to keep yourself from gaining weight during pregnancy, unless you started out very obese and are doing so under a doctor's guidance.

Gaining a reasonable amount of weight during pregnancy rather than going hog wild and gaining 80 pounds is a good thing...but purposely trying to not gain weight is another story...

In the first trimester I am not so worried, but those who aren't gaining in their second and third trimesters...well, that sort of sends out red flags to me.

(You have to understand, I was following gestational diabetic eating guidelines per my doctor, and I exercised 5-6 days a week and taught belly dance classes throughout my entire pregnancy-and I STILL gained weight...so I am just worried about your bodies and the babies not lacking nutrition.)
  • Lately I've just been happy if I'm ABLE to eat and keep things down. This AM I weighed in at 216.5 But I've had HORRIBLE nausea and vomiting especially this week. I'm really hoping it lets up soon!
  • I started at 225 and, at 36 weeks, am 245 (ish).

Aphil, I second your comments. Remember, ladies, we're creating little human beings. Our bodies will naturally work to store up extra fat to fuel breastfeeding.
