Did anyone go for a gastric balloon?
Every Doc. or hospital I e-mail they only recommend lapband or Gastric sleeve???

Why no one goes for something less dramatic?!!

Anyhow, can anyone help...

Is that where they put a balloon in your stomach (via mouth) and blow it up so the food sits on top of it, then in 6 months they take it out? I saw that being done on tv but in europe, not the US.

I researched it all before having RNY. RNY seemed to be the best fit for me and with the best outcome for most. If no doctor wants to do the balloon, there must be a reason....

I think the main reason that it's not done much, is that surgeons don't have much experience with it. It's been used in other countries for several years, but hasn't caught on here. It may not, as doctors may prefer to work with techniques they are familiar with, if there's no clear advantage to a different procedure.
