Universe working against me!

  • Well, I got the elliptical I wanted. I used it every night until I got asthmatic bronchitis. That took about 2 weeks. Then I started back up again, and school started so I had to get my sleeping schedule back on track. So I took 2-3 days to do that(being way too tired during the day because of lack of sleep) and NOW... well NOW I don't know what I did, but I can't walk. My lower back/just above the *** (on the left) is KILLING me... I must have pulled something back there while I was playing pool on Friday, all that bending at the waist with such a heavy top load. BAD IDEA.

All I want to freaking do is get an exercise routine going, IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK?! *shakes fist* This better not last any longer than a week or I'm going to .... well I can't really kill it, because it's my back after all and I need it, but you know what I mean.

I just had to get that off my shrinking chest. Speaking of which... I am like, having too much fun playing with all the extra skin laying around on them. lol

I don't want life to be a box of freaking chocolates. I wanna know what I'm guna get
  • I have extra skin around them and I haven't lost any weight yet

Sorry about your back, take it easy.
  • Hahah well I can relate on the extra skin thing from before I started losing, but now it's like... MORE! ahaha.
  • maybe it's your sciatic nerve? Check with your doctor, there are exercises you can to to relieve it.

Glad you're over your bronchitis. My son had it last week, he was coughing so hard blood was coming up. It was really scary
  • Ouchies. Sorry to hear about that. When I hurt my back, I was not able to do anything but walk. If you can, maybe take a 20 minute walk daily until you feel better? It will also help stregnthen the muscle that you pulled.

I took some muscle relaxants for my back - or if you're weary of them, maybe some advil (my best friend for pain relief).
  • If you have pulled something, then watch out what you are doing. I'd see a dr. or someone to find out. I pulled my sciatic once. I was supposed to take it easy for 8 weeks. Impatient me started back playing softball after 6 weeks of babying my nerve. I pulled it again! Please be sure you have really damaged something or thrown something out before you get too aggressive.

Do you have access to medical treatment at school? Maybe ask the athletic trainer if you have one.
  • I'm sorry! I know how it feels. Over the summer I when I was trying to get a walking routine going I fell down twice in the same week. The first was a hand injury so I was able to pick up the next day, the second was a sprained ankle. I was so pissed when I fell the second time, I just sat there for the longest time thinking "You've gotta be kidding me." It really is frustrating. But as others have said, the most important thing is to give yourself time to recover. You could use the idle time to plan, make some goals, etc.!
