  • Well i have lurked for several months on this board trying to get motivation and wondering if i should post or not. I am 25 yrs. old and have had 2 children in the past 3.5 yrs. I would like to lose about 70 pounds. I know it isn't 100 or over but to me it seems just as insurmountable. Just let me know. Thanks. You guys are my heros.

Everyone is welcome here. It doesn't matter how much weight we have to lose. The journey all of us are on isn't so much about losing extra weight but to become healthy people. Eating right and exercise have great side effects lol we lose weight and tone our body's.
  • Welcome!

Of course you can join! 70 lbs certainly isn't insurmountable but I can certainly understand how it can seem to be. One thing that might help is to break up your weight loss goals into chunks that you think seem realistic (10 lbs at a time is a good example).

    Jump right in!!

  • Everyone is welcome! As mentioned, you may find it easier to break up the 70 pounds into smaller amounts. Maybe 7 lbs at a time. You can do this!
  • Come on in! Weight loss is weight loss, whether it is 10 pounds or 100. The support is the same for everyone

    Cherry -
Don't downplay your weight-loss goals! Lurker no more, go for it! You can do it! Babies do some not so nice things to our bodies. Way to go for wanting to make a change and taking the first step.
  • I prefer to think of the challenge we each face as relative. For example, I'm 5'8" and have er.. a LOT of weight to lose. Right now it's pretty easy for me to lose a few pounds a week, but as I get closer to my goal, that few pounds is going to represent a greater percentage of my overall fitness level.

OTOH, my mother, who's considerably shorter and smaller than I am, is already at the point where every pound represents a huge achievement to her.

My 70 pounds is not HER 70 pounds.

I've even decided not to set an overall goal weight. My big overall goal is to be at about 25% body fat. I might revise it once I get there and know how that feels.

So, I guess what I'm trying to say (in my own long-winded way) is to the Club!
  • to the board, I have nothing to add that the previous posts have put in. I have been in your postion thinking that it is such a mountain you have to climb. Like others on here I broke it down in to small achievable goals and that made it so much easier.

You are not alone, you have the support and help of the people on this board. So you can do this
  • Hey Cherry!
