Flex Challenge, June

  • The rules for the old challenge got deleted with the server crash, and I haven't gotten around to re-posting the full set. Here's the challenge in a nutshell: instead of making goals related to how much weight you can lose in a month, we're focusing on what it takes to get there: water, food, and exercise.

    You get 2 points for every day you are on plan (eating your base points + any activity points earned + weekly flex points). No splitting them up, either you get 2 points or you don't.

    You get 1 point for meeting a personal exercise goal. Mine is to exercise 30 minutes each day. Even if you plan to take an off day, you don't get a point that day.

    You get 1 point for drinking an individually determined amount of water. I chose 64 oz. You can choose a higher or lower goal depending on what goal you want to meet. No half points for only drinking half your target.

    At the end of the month we add up our total points and see who comes out on top. It's just a fun little way to keep track of progress and stay accountable. You can go in and edit your post each day or come back and record how you did every couple of days or whatever works for you.

    There was a possible total of 120 points, but we did lose a week in the server crash and not all of us managed to remember how we were doing. This was the first month we were trying the challenge, so it was a little messy anyhow. If anyone has suggestions for improving future challenges please let me know! I'd love to continue running these as food, water, and exercise are integral parts of this puzzle, and it's good to keep that in mind!!

    CONGRATS to everyone who made a personal goal this month, regardless of what your numbers say. (But an extra huge congrats to kahnfv, who managed to stay on top of everything the WHOLE month!!)
