Back and Bummy exercises

  • I was just wondering if any of you would like to share their most efficient and favourite exercises for back and bum.
  • Squats and lunges are great for toning and strengthing the lower body. For the back I like back extensions. I prefer using a machine or you could lay face down on the floor and do a superman pose. I also like dead rows and one arm bent over rows using free weights.

  • Deadlifts ROCK! Also try bridges...you know...lie on the floor on your back with bent legs and feet on the floor, and push your hips/pelvis toward the ceiling.
  • Back extensions, deadlifts, wide stance squats (target glutes more) and walking lunges are my favorites. And don't be afraid to lift heavy!!

    Also....thanks for reminding about that "superman pose" exercise - now I remember we used to do it very often back in primary school at the corrective exercise classes! It was working wonders! Back muscles were really toned
