Califlower Pop Corn wanted

  • Hi Girls. I am thinking of coming back and joining you....May change my name to Bionic Beach Babe.
Right now I need the recipe for that wonderful Pop Corn made with Califlower.
Been so long I don't even remember what to look under...Help please...
    Thanks loads...
  • Lubajo! , It's nice to hear from you again! I miss you and your sister, it would be great if you decide to join us again. Here's that recipe you requested in the meantime -

    Cauliflower popcorn

    1 head of cauliflower
    4 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon of salt (or, to taste or for a salt-free alternative, Mrs. Dash table blend)

Preheat oven to 425 º F. Cut out and discard cauliflower core and thick stems. Trim remaining cauliflower into florets the size of golf balls. In a large bowl, add cauliflower, olive oil, and salt. Toss thoroughly. Spread cauliflower on a baking sheet (lined with parchment paper, if available for easy cleanup). Roast for 1 hour, or until much of each floret has become golden brown. (that's the caramelization process converting the dormant natural sugars into sweetness. The browner the florets, the sweeter they will taste.) Turn 3 or 4 times during roasting. Use crumbled up aluminum foil or paper towels to create a false bottom in your popcorn container, fill it with cauliflower, and serve immediately.
  • Thank you Cottage...I really appreciate it.
  • Are these crunchy?
  • oooh this looks good I didn't see these before!!
    could you use frozen?
would probably rock with old bay seasoning! (my new addiction)
  • Mine have never turned out crunchy, but others have claimed they've had great success with this recipe. It is still good, though.
I've always used fresh cauliflower, KO I don't think frozen would work too well. Try it, though, and let us know!
