Wheat Germ?

  • I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of what I could do with wheat germ. I had to use it to make food for my pets and now I am stuck with 3/4 of a container with no use for it.
  • Use it to make energy bars (I just posted a recipe for this in a thread today).

Make muffins and use it in place of some of the flour.

Mix it into cold or hot cereal.

    Sprinkle it on salads.

    Put it in smoothies.
  • sprinkle it on yogurt
  • ~Replace 1T of white flour (per cup) in recipes to up the nutrition of baked goods. This is a good substitute when you are out of ww flour, although I'll throw some in even when I use ww flour.

~Use 1-2T in a smoothy and blend in with everything else.

~Mix with bread crumbs for on top of casseroles.

~Mix in with any dry cereal (I throw some in when I make homemade granola.)

~It is good on yogurt, but if you do that don't put it on until right before you eat it! Soggy wheat germ is not so tasty.
  • You can use it anywhere you use bread crumbs. I put it in my meatloaf and meatballs. So much healthier than bread crumbs!
