Default Starting Optifast

I'm really excited to start the Optifast program at Lakes Region General Hospital's - Weight loss Institute in Laconia, NH. My first day was yesterday, November 20th 2014.

My starting weight was 239.5 lbs. If you are curious about the cost of the program, how the shakes taste, how it feels each day you can follow me on my blog or ask questions here. I'm more than happy to help anyone who is thinking about the program.

Default Day two complete!

I have officially completed day two and on to day three!
My starting weight was 239.5
I am now at 233.2 - that is a total loss of 6.3 lbs.

Very exciting. Battling headaches and a "blah" mood. Other than that I'm hanging in there!

Day Two Tip: Drink, drink, drink and drink more water. Bubbly, seltzer, soda water, anything zero calorie. Get it in and flush out toxins.

Day three is done!
Weight in 232.6 - total loss of 6.9 lbs

No headaches today! Still blah mood. Waiting for an energy burst. I'm not finding it hard to stay on shakes. I only crave when I'm bored. Gotta stay busy. Need to find a hobby!

Day Four is complete.
Down a total of 8.8 lbs. Still fighting moodiness. I'm easily pissed off or annoyed. Now that I've been four days sober from my food addiction it is a lot easier to see other people battling their own addictions.

Day Five - Loads of Energy today! I did my weight training at the gym and then did an hour hike! Felt amazing. If there is anyone out there on optifast, I would really love an accountability partner. I am the only person in the program at the hospital and it is lonely at times.

Had a dream I ate a bag of chips last night. Woke up so mad at myself and then relieved that it was only a dream!

Down a total of 9.1 lbs.

You can do it bbarber! You can do it. I would say the first four days are the hardest...but each day you are different. Each day you are one step closer to your goal. Every night when I go to sleep, I tell myself I will be a different person when I wake up. When I get on the treadmill or the elliptical I know I'm burning fat. Its not like you ate a fattening lunch and you are burning that off - you really are burning fat on the Optifast program. I would also recommend having a soup at night. I have a vanilla shake in the am, a chocolate shake, and then a strawberry, a tomato soup, and one of those brownie bars before bed as a treat. It gives me something to look forward too and if you were/are as addicted to food as I am - you will need those little things to look forward too. I also went and bought a bunch of different sparkling water flavors. Something to look forward too as well. Best of luck! You can do it! You CAN do it!

Day Eight: Thanksgiving and they mystery 2 lb gain.

So I didn't cheat, and watched everyone eat Thanksgiving. I had my Optifast tomato soup. It was ok, and I felt ok about it. How in the heck did I gain 2l lbs? I dunno...I had a dream I ate Chinese food. Maybe research needs to be done about cognitive weight gain! Ha! My mood seems to have finally stabilized. All fingers are crossed! I'm hoping that the mystery 2 lbs finds it way off again!

I'll be doing something similar with ********** or 3 day refresh. But it's 3 days. How long do you do Optifast? Nevermind reading your blog

Why can you say Optifast and not the name of my shake? Is it because of the BB pushers? I'm not selling anything. I'm not a coach anymore.

Optifast is typically 12 weeks long! Yeah, I think you can't say BB because they don't want anyone to be solicited too. I have a friend that does BB and loves it!

Current Weight: 228.3
Total Change: 11.2

I have lost some of the mystery weight I gained. I am not finding it hard to stay on the plan anymore at all. My mood is good! I've been thinking a lot about how I'm going to keep this weight off. It is daunting.
