I've been working towards my weight loss for 2 months, and I had contemplated writing about my journey from a gamer's point of view. Although I'm not a huge gamer, I do play World of Warcraft, Sims, Simcity and a few other games pretty regularly.
Gamers have this stereotype of being fat and lazy, and although gaming is working its way into society, it's still got a long ways to go before it loses that stigma. Losing weight as a gamer is also very tough, because the pastime we enjoy has us sitting down for long periods of time with very little movement in between.
When I came up with the concept of my blog, I wanted to treat it like I did gaming...There's a Boss I must beat down, what strategy am I going to use? What abilities does the boss have? What is my plan of action? Every Monday I bring out my Obesity boss, and update it's health (my weight) and add a bit of spice by telling you what "moves" myself and the boss did (I go into it a bit deeper in the post named "What is Raiding Obesity?")
Every other day throughout the week, I give you my food journal for the previous day if I counted (the only time I do not count is on special occasions, and instead I will usually tell you about the special occasion instead), a Music Addition, which is a song from my playlists to help get anyone motivated to get up and move, and just about anything else I have going on. I also try to incorporate things I learn about weight loss as I go along, because hey, it's neat information!
I'd love any feedback on it! I know I only have about a weeks worth of posts in there, but I hope the posts are fun and interesting! I'm still working up the nerve to post an actual picture of myself, but it is on the agenda to introduce you to me, my dogs, and my life! Enjoy!
