Question Polenta?

I just started SBD, and have two food questions that I couldn't find:

Polenta: Is it "allowed"? And in what phase?
Cranberries: Are dried cranberries a no-no in all phases?

Welcome to 3FC and to the Beach.

Polenta is not allowed in Phases I and II of South Beach as it is made from corn. Corn is a very high GI starch and can be eaten only sparingly in Phase III. The Guide says "very limited".

Dried cranberries contain sugar and are a no-no in the first two phases but can be used sparingly in Phase III. Too bad they can't dry cranberries with Splenda instead of sugar!
Change isnít easy. But if you donít change, you stay the same, and whereís the fun in that?
