I have a question about Salsa...what is the best store brand to buy? I'm too lazy to make it from scratch, and I know I'm supposed to watch the sugar content. I've heard taco bell's salsa is okay, but what about ortega or the other brands??
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Nicole

Just about any salsa should work. Look at the list of ingredients and make sure there is no added sugar. I buy Pace which has no added sugar but still has 2 grams of sugar in the nutritional listing. That is from the tomatoes and is perfectly fine.

I like Herdez brand salsa. I get the mild and add my own spices because I don't like the taste of the medium or hot ones. It's in the mexican isle of the store. It's my favorite brand, very fresh tasting.
Love the Herdez too - no added sugar at all. I think this is the kind used in most mexican restaurants that do not make their own - in the ethnic foods section. Supposedly the most popular brand in Mexico . . .
