Default white wine and cooking

i have some white wine left over in my fridge from a few days ago (before I restarted myself on the beach).
Can I use it to cook with on phase one? Doesn't most of the alcohol and sugar etc burn off or am i dreaming?

Shasha, the alcohol burns off, but not the sugar, so no, you can't use it in Phase 1. However, I think you might be able to sneak it in, in small bits and in cooking only, in Phase 2, if it is sweet. If it is a very dry white, you might be able to use it in other things that don't heat it. Otherwise, stick to red. But no wine at all in Phase 1, okay?

I know that's hard...I'm a huge sweet white wine drinker, and I'm having to accomodate to red. Tough! But worth it.

I thought there was recipe in the SBD book that uses white wine to cook with. Am I wrong?
