Joy, it's info that was posted a little while ago somewhere in the FAQ. Someone else confirmed it... Ruth, I think. I'm not sure where it originated from.

Check out the FAQ on Dr A's interview. It's a sticky. He allows up to two cups of milk per day.

Hi,

I'm confused...I was under the impression that we could have fat free chocolate pudding on Phase II. What about the sugar? I have been enjoying the fat free pudding topped with 1 teaspoon of natural peanut butter and a bit of lite cool whip...it's yummy. It tastes like a Reeses Peanut Butter Cup.
Please tell me I don't have to give up this dessert as well

Rose

Default chocolate pudding

Don't be too quick to grab a box of pudding off of the shelves. Read carefully. Some are labeled "fat free". There is no fat in pudding mixes anyway and those contain lots of sugar. It is just a selling point.
Be sure to look for the "Sugar Free" varieties.

There are some that are fat-free and sugar-free.

You don't have to "give up" anything!

When you say "give up," isn't there an implication that you'll never be able to eat "this" or "that" for the rest of your life? Nothing could be further from the truth!

You're just reducing the frequency. You may have to "give up" eating your pudding seven nights a week--but would eating your pudding four or five nights a week--and maybe slightly smaller portions--be all that bad?

Last night, we had a pretty good dessert you might want to try. We made some SF orange jello. Then, in a separate bowl, we whipped up some heavy cream with a little Splenda and a big tablespoon of vanilla extract. Whipped the cream until it was fairly stiff. Mix the whipped cream with the jello once it's set, then fold in maybe 1/2 cup of cottage cheese for texture and a bit of protein. Serves two.

Um....that would be OK for Atkins but heavy cream is not allowed on South Beach.
