South Beach Living (Diet) Products

Some of these products from Kraft are easy for me to distinguish the phase in which they belong. Example the Grilled Chicken wraps with whole wheat tortillas, low fat cheese and low fat dressing are obviously Phase 2. Is there a guide or some way for me to look at the ingredients and determine it for unknown items.

I'm particularly interested in the meal replacement bars since my personal trainer mentioned carrying a few in case we were out and about and couldn't eat properly. I'm not sure how one of those bars could replace a meal but I guess it's better than falling off the wagon.

I have used the meal bars (phase 2) They are really handy but be sure you eat one at home first......they have a lot of sugar alcohol. A whole one upsets my stomach badly. I figured out I can eat a half and be fine, and as sweet as they are that was about all I would want to eat.

All of the SB products I have used are labeled on the back what Phase they are OK for. While the bars are made by SB they really are full of a lot of additives and not so "beachy" stuff.

Even Dr A says that the bars are to be used as emergency rations only.

They have a lot of sugar alchohols and have sent me to binging previously If you want a bar I suggest the Nessa Bars from P2 breakfasts
or if you want a grab and go (not entirely beachy) I like the Atkins PB bar no sugar alcohols and I think 1 gram of sugar

If these are "emergency only" they really should be marketed differently.

*sigh* I'm through complaining. I guess he really did sell out when he allowed Kraft to start marketing SBD foods.

Kriterion, you may want to carry some roasted nuts with you in case you get hungry somewhere. You can play to take other things with you each day if you know you might get hungry later--like celery with laughing cow cheese, 1oz cheese wedges or string cheese, bell pepper strips (or any veggie) and hummus, etc.
