Default Corn?

Ok, I'm almost done with Phase I, so I'm prepping myself by reading up on Phase II. I noticed corn isn't on the Ok List. When is it ok to re-introduce corn to my diet and why was it forbidden in the first place? I never thought of corn as high in carbs or sugar.

Thanks for you help!
I can't lose 100 pounds, but I can lose 10 pounds 10 times...

Corn is very high in starch and sugars, and hence carbs. Think "high fructose corn syrup". It's also relatively devoid of vitamins and minerals, compared to other veggies.
