Rutabagas, Turnips &/or Parsnips on Phase II?

I'm trying to decipher whether or not i can eat any of these in Phase II, and I've gotten myself all confused... :?: the phase II list on here doesn't mention adding any of those back, but on another area (or was it another website??) it said turnips yes and rutabagas sparingly, whatever that means. my parsnips are baby parsnips, which makes me think they're not as high-carb as normal but still these may be out.

(i'm a supporter of a farm & get a box every week...this week's box had all 3 of these lovely, freshly harvested veggies in it, hence my question.)

thanks in advance for your help!!

I'm WFH today so I pulled out my Good Fats/Good Carbs book

Parsnips (1/2 cup serving size) - 15 carbs 4 grams sugar 0 fat are listed as Very Limited

Rutabaga (1/2 cup serving size) 7 carbs, 3 grams sugar 0 fat are listed as Very Limited

Turnips (1/2 cup serving size) 4 carbs, 2 grams sugar 0 fat are listed as Good.

I suspect the limitation is due to the amount of sugar and carbs.

Personally, I feel that these veggies are going to be a lot healthier than other types of carbs so I would perhaps cut back on a grain to eat them on occasion. Just don't eat them all the time.

Nandab, we are SO blessed to have Barb here. :goodvibes: :grouphug: Thanks, Barb!!!

You know, I didn't even know I'd like turnips until I tried them in this recipe: Turnips with Greens They are DELICIOUS! :T :faint:

Now I often use them to substitute in stews and soups for potatoes. They work really well that way! :D
