Default 1st trimester down!

Today is the last day of the first trimester! I'm cautiously excited. This is the farthest we've gotten of the last 4 pregnancies.
Had a 1st trimester screen and my numbers all look pretty good for an old lady. We're skipping the CVS and waiting to do an Amnio 1/2/7. STILL haven't told many people in 3-d world. NOT family, boss, most friends, etc. DH wants to wait until we have the baby home! NOT LIKELY, BUB!
Thinking when the amnio results come back we might start telling. I think we might keep sex a secret this time. It was kind of a let down last time, everyone knew the sex, name and even what day it was going to happen since he was scheduled c-section.
I am THRILLED that my weight has stayed steady. Unfortunately, it took a 48 hr stomach flu this week to drop 4 lbs that creeped on, but either way, I am the same as I was the day we found out.
I am hoping to start exercising moderately. I understand it will be very good for the baby and hopefully I will start having a little more energy now that 1st tri is complete.
Sorry this is a novel but it's hard when there's so few people to share with!
What kind of weight gain have other moms shot for when they started out 60+ lbs overweight? Doc says he doesn't care as long as baby is healthy.

Yay! I'm over here doing my happy dance.

Oh, weight gain. I've never worried about it, to be honest. When I got pregnant with Esther, I weighed 182, which is like 30lb over my ideal and about 55 over the official ideal, and I gained about 35lbs. With Linda, I started out 10lbs heavier & gained I think 22lbs. With Bobbie I started out 100lbs over my ideal weight and wound up with a net loss of 10lbs, though I put on 23lbs from my low point (a lot of that was fluid, though).

Hi Ottoette! I'm just starting into my 2nd trimester tommorrow!

Congratulations to you also!

My doctor hasn't said anything to me about weight, as far, how much I should be gaining. I've actually haven't put on any weight yet.

I'm going to try my best to keep eating healthy, fruita, lean meats, and carbs in moderation.

I started roughly 90-100 pounds over my ideal weight (that would be the ideal-ideal and the realistic ideal, lol) and my CNM said that 10-15 pounds of gain would be "ideal" (there's that word again!). I'm at almost 22 weeks and have gained ~7, so right on track. And I consider it to be all "legitimate" despite the holidays, because my rings all still fit, even the small ones that start digging in as soon as I put on so much as a pound!

Congrats on making in through the first trimester!

My OB suggested 10-15 lbs, but told me not worry too much over (and I don't ) I was in that ball park for my first pg (I think about 15 lbs).

As of my last OB appt, I was down a lb from my starting weight. I'm probably further down now because I have been really sick all week (vomiting/diarrhea). I'm not too worried over it though. I'm sure the weight gain will start coming soon enough!
