Baby Names!!

Hey Everyone! My hubby and I have picked out the names we like and I was just wondering what everyone had in mind for their little ones?

Share your names for boy and girl (or just the one if you already know your babies gender!), what the name means, why you like it, and what it means to you.

If you are unsure about names this is also a great thread to get advice!

Okay! My picks are

Elise Lee - Elise means "God is my oath" and is a form of elizabeth. I am a huge classical music buff and my favorite song is Bethoveen's "Fur Elise." My husband also loves that song and we have had this name picked out for 8 years! lol. Lee was originally part of my husband's surname, but it was botched by the Ellis Island powers-that-be when his great grandfather came from Germany to America. It's been a tradition in his family that the middle name for all kids is Lee in honor of their original family name. I think it's a great tradition and see no reason why to stop it. Lee also means "meadow" which I think it pretty and works for both genders.

Arthur Lee - Arthur means "bear." I have several reason why I chose this name. The first is in honor of my grandfather named Arthur. He meant the world to me and even though he passed many years ago I still feel a strong connection to him. He was a strong person and to know him was to love him. The second reason is because I always call my husband my "teddy bear" (he's 6' tall, with a shaggy beard and build like a tank with a big barrel chest). I thought it would be adorable to have Papa Bear and Little Bear. :) And of course Lee is to keep with tradition.

I like your choices. I like that they are real names and not something trendy or some weird spelling that they have to explain the rest of their lives.

I agree. I wanted names that were unique enough that there wouldn't be 4 Elise's in their class (I had that problem all throughout school with Amanda's!), but they are real and solid names. Not Pilot Inspecktor or Apple or Muffin or whatever....lol
