I will be 7 weeks post partum tomorrow and ever since I gave birth, I've been craving carbs constantly. Breads, pasta, cereal, anything with sugar...gotta have it. I don't really have any desire to eat anything else even though I know I should be munching on lots of healthy fruits and veggies. Is this normal and is there anything I can do to make it stop?
I am sure your carb craving is linked to needing more calories because you're breastfeeding. It's just your body's way of saying, "Hey! I'm hungry." I would make sure you're getting some whole grains (oatmeal is fantastic for milk production) and some protein (and of course, fruits and veggies).
Don't forget your water as well. If you're breastfeeding, you should be drinking a glass of it every time you nurse.
