3D/4D Ultrasounds-Anyone have one?
Hi there!
I'm just curious about those 3D/4D ultrasounds. Have any of you ladies had the joy of getting one? If so, what was it like, do you feel it was worth it?
Can I also ask how far along you were when you had one, and how pricey was it?
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Girl, I cannot believe you started this thread, because two minutes ago I was leaving a message to make an appointment for one! So funny.
In NYC, the prices vary per package, but it's about $150 on average. It includes a 10 minute DVD, 2 color pictures, 2 black & white pictures, a CD-Rom with 15-30 images to share with others. I want to get it done before it's too late, I think the latest they like to do it is 32 weeks.

Haha, I made an appt too this morning! How funny. Except I still need to wait 4 weeks so I'll be at 28 weeks by then. Please let me know what it's like when you go! I won't be able to see my little one till the end of Sept.

I made the appointment for next Sunday, I can't wait! They have a summer special for $145. I will get two 3x5 color 3D pics, a 10 minute DVD, a CD-ROM with 10-20 images, a small photo album, and a teddy bear with his heartbeat recorded into it! They told me not to eat for 4 hours beforehand, drink TONS of water, and do not have any sugary drinks. I will let you know how it goes, and post some pics if I can!

Aww, I want the teddy bear! My place had the same type of special with everything except the teddy bear and the photo album. Please post pictures! I'm so excited for you! Best of luck, and I can't wait to hear about it!

I had one done at UC Baby, they also give you a video in addition to pictures.
Here's mine... 29 weeks. 29 weeks is apparently the best time, baby is large enough to be more developed but not too big to not get a good view

You might want to bring a cold sugary drink just in case... my boy was sleeping throughout the whole thing, my husband had to go out and buy a coke to get him to move around a little, lol

I got one, but I didn't have to pay for it! My hubby was born with Congenital heart disease so they did one so they could check her heart before she was born incase she had heart problems. She didn't THANK GOD! but it was neat getting to see her on the 4D one, she already had hair and everything!
It was pretty awesome too cuz my doctor had a pediatrician, a cardiologist and a OB all in the room looking and discussing the structure of her heart to make sure she was okay! I felt so special lol.

orange juice is great if you drink it like an hour before hand to wake them up. I didn't do it on my first one and he was out like a rock. She pushed and prodded and then he arched his little fetal back and threw a tantrum (babies DO cry in the womb btw and he did ALL the crying motions during that ultrasound! I was so pissed at her for making my baby cry!)
So yeah, its good to wake them up imo. But you should probably follow your tech's advice in whichever scenario you're going into. Mine recommends the OJ beforehand though.
