Default IUI success and gender

Hi, I just had my first IUI yesterday. I was wondering how successful IUI's were for people who had them, how many tries? I'm pretty sure I ovulated but DH sperm motility was only at 17% and they said they weren't sure if they would survive the procedure. I'm nervous!
Also, if anyones is familiar with the Shette's method, does it make sense that most IUI's would produce males? Since male sperm are smaller and quicker and deposited so close to the egg? Or does the washing process kill most of the small male sperm? Im just curious if very many people had girls with the IUI. Thanks!

I'm pregnant from our first IUI round. Dh had huge numbers and great motility, but only 1% morphology. I think we're pretty lucky it worked the first time. I was also on Clomid (even though I ovulate fine) and I know from u/s that I ovulated 2 eggs a few hours after the IUI. Only one fertilized (thankfully.)

We're waiting till birth to find out what we are having, but my gut is screaming BOY. We shall see. We're just happy to be having a baby.

I've wondered about this too. I'd be interested to find out statistically what the rates are.
