Any day now sacha! I think you'll be glad you waited for bean to arrive on it's own, although it is hard going late. Hang in there!

Thank you Gale! I hear that induction is fairly common in the USA at around 40 weeks (it is not offered very often here in Canada, 41-42 weeks is the norm).

I don't really mind being late to be honest, it's my husband's impatience that drives me insane Every time I get up to pee at night... "is it happening? did your water break?" - NO!!!

sacha, I had to be induced with my son for health reasons (his) and I say avoid it if at all possible. Not that labor is fun to begin with, but IMO the drugs they used for induction made it worse. I really, really hope to do this one naturally.

Your hubby is cute! Mine doesn't even wake up anymore when I get up to pee. Maybe he will when I'm closer.

Indeed - inductions often make for slower and more difficult labors, and increase the complications rates for both mom AND baby immensely. They're a wonderful tool, but ridiculously overused.

My heart goes out to you Sacha, I was 42 weeks when I had to be induced with my first daughter and it was really stressful to be that overdue. If you DO need to be induced I HIGHLY recommend checking out a foley (balloon) catheter. It will manually dilate you between 3-5 centimeters and that is often enough to start labor. If it is not, it makes things like pitocin and cervadil much more successful. I had that for my second daughter and had a successful VBAC and reasonable labor, unlike the first time around. It is an outpatient procedure, pretty much painless, and no negative side effects unlike chemical induction agents

Good luck sacha, I am rooting for you!

Oh thank you Sacha, and good luck, you are almost there!! I never did have to be induced w/my other 2 babies, for my first baby, we were scheduled to be induced at 7am, had to be at the hospital at 5am, but water broke at 4am. Then I had to have a c-section because he was a very large baby. So, my doctor is one who is "once a c-section always a c-section" it's ok though. I was on my feet quicker then I thought!

I am soooo excited for you!!! Oh, and I think your hubby is adorable for being so antsy for the baby to come! He is a proud daddy, I can tell. Good luck to you both, I am praying all goes well for you and baby comes soon!!!!

I hope that baby comes soon sacha! Your husband is too cute with his impatience. Although I'm sure it's not cute to you.

I'm glad to be back at work, if only for the air conditioning. These record highs are hard to deal with pregnant. Especially since we only have a swamp cooler! Gale~ You aren't too far from me. How are you holding up in this heat?

I had a midwife appointment last Friday. She scheduled me for another u/s in 6 weeks. The baby is doing great, but the placenta is low. The report she got said it was marginal or low lying. I guess it was unclear to them which it was. I'm crossing my fingers that the placenta moves up. I'd really like to avoid a c-section is possible.

I hope everyone is having a great Monday!

Blech! That's what I think about this heat. Fortunately, we have A/C so I'm doing ok. I've been having really bad dizzy spells the last week or so, and I know the heat is making it worse. I told DH that if we plan our next baby I don't want to be pg during the summer! It's miserable.

Arctic mom - I was thinking the same thing about sacha! Also haven't heard from Jahjah in a while! Maybe two beautiful babies are new to this world!

Tomorrow is our first ultrasound to see how baby is developing and what our true due date is, I'm excited even though we have been through this several times with our other kiddos lol! Each baby was different and soooo exciting! Hope everyone is doing great!!!

Yes!

See the June thread!

I ended up with an induction due to water leaking (no contractions). 26 hour labor, complications, epidural problems, baby fractured his clavicle, blah blah, ***it's over! he's alive and hungry, so I am happy
