Best Book Ever!

  • Master Your Metabolism by Jillian Michaels is hands down the best book I have ever read regarding metabolism/hormones/regaining control. It actually explains hormones in NORMAL LANGUAGE! It also explains how to get rid of the bad, restore the good and rebalance your systems. One thing I love is that it explains how to choose appropriate carbs, etc depending on what is going on with you. For instance, avoid corn and wheat when possible and instead choose oats or barley. And no carbs at night.

    Is it saying 'no carbs' as after dinner snack watching tv, or 'no carbs' at your dinner/last meal?
  • I would also read Why We Get Fat by Gary Taubes, great great book! Good Calories Bad Calories is similar but more technical, I would definitely recommend Why We Get...
  • Agreed! It's a great read and tells you in easy to understand terms how to get started (ie cleaning your kitchen!) and then how to go forward with everything
