Absolutely! I have very long cycles when I'm sedentary and eating badly, I'm talking 6+ MONTHS! I am finally starting to see the connections, and I see that my body has like a "trigger" weight. Anything above 180 is when things start getting very irregular, while below that weight my cycles are more stable. Still odd, between 25-40 days, but definitely more predictable than the months.

When I'm overweight, eating poorly, and sedentary, I don't have my period at all. Ever.

In 2006 and 2010, I lost weight and was exercising regularly, and I started having a normal cycle when I hit about 210 pounds. This time, however, I am down to 199 with very little exercise and I haven't had a period yet. So I'm thinking that exercise is the key for me.

i've been stuck in the 180-190 for a while now and been losing and regaining the same 10 pounds and when i had about 25 pounds more before i didn't have my period for over a year or maybe once or twice a year but now for the last couple of months it's been regular as a clock and guesswhat...my bff and i we get it together on the same day. so if i miss mine i always call her to see if she got it lol
even when i was working as a waitress with one girl and i my period was irregualr, we started talking about it and after a while i got mine too and we were totally synced. it was so bizzare to me, and i read that it's possible to have your period at the same time as your friends if you hang out a lot and spend time or feel attached to her. i was fascinated but it really helped me get mine back with no medication but just by opening about it while before in high school i was embarassed to talk about it and i pretended like i never got it and in the last two years of high school it dissapeared.

Your cycle is regulated by your hormones.

If your hormones are still out of whack, losing weight will not automatically mean that you will get it back.

Managing IR -- through exercise and/or diet -- is how you regulate your hormones. And that's how you get your period.

Wondering if weight loss will help mine to return? Hopefully it does, I want to lose as much as possible before I start trying for a baby, I'm too afraid of being told its not possible
