***I am not looking for medical advice, just posibilty of hearing someone who has had a similar experience
I have always had extremely reliable, predictable periods since I began menstruating at age 12. I began taking birth control pills when I got married at age 29 (we had used condoms up to that point). I took the pill (Loestrin fe) for a year and a half and stopped April '11 knowing that DH and I were going to begin TTC in July '11.
So, we began TTC just like planned. I had been getting my period regularly since I stopped the pill but it was lighter than it had been before taking the pill. In December '11 I had a slight spotting for 1 day (thought it might be implantation bleeding because it was on the day I was to get my period) but then the next week I began my period and it lasted for 9 days. In January '12 I began my period on day 22 of my cylce (very early for me) and it lastet 15 days.
This month, I began onCD 28 and thought good things are at least getting back to normal, but I have a very very light peroid lasting 5 days. I didn't even need a tampon. After it had completely stopped I began heavy spotting 2 days later! So I went to the gyno and she said my hormones seem out of whack and they have drawn blood for labs (which I noticed they are testing for PCOS) and I am having a sonogram a week from Monday because she said she felt a cyst on my one ovary.
I began to look into PCOS and I don't think I fit many of the symptoms (which I could totally be wrong!) However, I am overweight (5'2'' and 218- I recently gained 30 lbs that I had attributated to not being so super stressed at work anymore). I have noticed that I sometimes get cramping pains in my ovary area and there have been several times in the last few months that I have been extremely dizzy. I have also been very short tempered with people lately.
Has anyone here had a similar experience and it ended up being PCOS? I know I just have to wait to find out, but it is so hard to wait!
(sorry I worte a book!)
