Default Nutrition and PCOS

Been lurking around the PCOS threads. Sorry to butt in, but I have a ? I used to have all kinds of female issues. A hysterectomy cured it. My issues don't seem to fall in to the category of what I see with PCOS.

My ? is do you find that the better your nutrition is the better the PCOS gets?

Just wondering, because I see so many health issues that get better with better nutrition. Mostly observed in children and ADD and ADHD issues. The less processed junk they eat, the less issues they have.
So just wondering?

I actually moved this question to its own thread

I would say that I feel PCOS is related/similar to diabetes. If your food is out of whack, your blood sugar is out of whack and thus you are out of whack.

I found that cutting out refined/processed foods ended a lot of issues for me. I never ate low carb although I was carb conscious but it was more important to me to eat plenty of whole, unprocessed foods. I then switched to a high carb diet and I wasn't sure what would happen but my symptoms were still mostly under control. So to me, it is really the idea of eating whole foods that is important.

Yes, def.

Better nutrition offers some relief. Before I even got the dx I tried to straighten up my junky ways a cut the refined, processed stuff.

After the PCOS dx when I also got my hypothyroid dealt with -- whoa! Night and day. And learning to balance the blood sugar thing was a boost too.

YES!!!!

Because PCOS is like diabetes for some of us, diet is CRITICAL!!! Actually if you don't watch it, it will develop into diabetes anyway....

PCOS symptoms like excess hair do get better if I watch what I eat because I'm helping balance my hormones in my body. The endocrine system is amazing.... especially how slight things can set it off kilter.
