Hi, guys. Just found this part of the boards (I've posted at the Ideal Protein boards).
Anybody here try the Ideal Protein diet? I weighed in last Wednesday and got all my stuff then actually started it that Friday. Went back today and in just under a week I've lost 5.5 pounds, my blood pressure went down, and lost a few inches too.
Anyway, like I said I'm just finding this section and thought I'd pop in and say hi.
Welcome to the forum! I've never tried IP, but we have a very successful forum full of IP'ers. Great first week, I hope you continue to get great results!

Hello to all, my first post on here. I was happy to find this community
I'm 37 and was diagnosed with PCOS at age 14. I just started the Ideal Protein diet (today is my second day) and I would love to share the journey.
I think it will be good for PCOS because it is specifically for insulin resistant people. I am under the care of a Naturopath who recommended it because I was sick of the usual allopathic meds for PCOS and insulin resistance.
Welcome WorldTraveler and Kristin - that's great how you're doing with IP - Have you all visited the IP forum here on the site?
World Traveler, I think most of the people here try to manage the best they can with exercise and good-carb eating. There are a few supplement threads you might want to check out as well.

I have PCOS and did IP last fall and lost 23 pounds, gained 3 or 4 back (I had to stop because its so expensive) and went back a couple weeks ago to lose those few pounds and maybe 15 more??
It works - it works more slowly with PCOS clients but it works. I was watching what I ate and training for a half marathon (in good shape) but not losing anything...IP is known for working with PCOS-ers so I highly suggest it!
You will likely be dizzy and nauseous the first few days because of the sugars and toxins leaving your system.
Lots of people on the IP section here are using alternative products. There is quite a bit posted about alternatives but you do have to understand the program to compare the nutrients of the products correctly. You would likely have the same reaction to being on alternatives as on the regular products. Most people feel great after the first few days.
When you sign up for Ideal Protein, do they encourage you to post about it online or something? Sometimes it looks a bit suspicious when the goal boards are full of IP stories with matching photos, and threads pop up everywhere praising IP - often by users with low post counts. It just seems a little suspicious to me. I work in advertising and i recognise when I am being marketed to...
