Default Facial Hair

I know this is a tad off the weight loss topic but I was wondering what y'all do for facial hair? I have it, it's not awful but it is noticable. Since I was diagnose 5 years ago I've been shaving it but I think it's taking it's tole on my skin. I'm trying to find a suitable alternative. I was thinking of splashing out and getting laser hair removal but does it even work????

Thanks all

Shave/tweezer.

My endoc offered spiro a while ago, and I didn't want to do it then. I may reconsider next time I see her.

Laser hair removal does work.I don't have facial hair but had hair removed elsewhere. If the hair doesn't have pigment though it doesn't work.Waxing is a good alternative and cheaper.

I was always told that you should never ever shave it (unless you're a dude of course).

Not only do I have PCOS, but I'm also Asian/European/North African so it's likely that I'd have facial hair even if I didn't lol! I'm just unlucky. I wax/pluck my eyebrows and upper lip and bleach the rest. There are a few really dark ones that I pluck but really I'm just waiting to have electrolysis or laser.

Eh, I just shave it like I shave under my arms or legs.

It isn't like it grows back any different. It just is.

I'm on spiro and I had laser hair removal. It worked wonders! I still have a few stray hairs, and now I just whisk them away with a razor

Thats crazy, I tried laser and it didnt work! my endo said that with PCOS its hormonal and laser hair removal wont work. I even tried painful electrolysis on my upperlip. neither worked. I use hard no tweeze wax which is great.

I tried the electrolosys for a while... I don't suggest it! It starts out feeling like a slight sting, but the amount of time that it needs to be done in a single hour can really wear on you and it just kind of grows into the most excruciating pain.

I was put on Spironolact, which is suppose to be a testosterone repress ant and Vaniqua an it's really done wonders! I use to have patches of hair under my chin and some on my neck and now it barely even shows up anymore. The few that do can simply be pulled out with the tweezers and they don't end up showing up again for a long time.

I have gone through laser hair removal to remove my facial hair (it got extremely bad to the point I was shaving it every day) I started with the laser hair removal shortly after I was put on hormone regulating pills and started loosing weight last year....

From what I was told when I first went for laser therapy by the clinic is that basically laser is not for everyone. Hair color has something to do with it as well, what exactly I dont remember. I was also informed that laser would get rid of my facial hair, but if I did not get my hormones in check, new hairs would start sprouting up through new follicales.

Laser did work for me. But if you have PCOS and aren't regulating your hormones, I would't suggest spending the money because there is a possibility it will come back.

This thread would be more useful with $$$ information-just askin
I'm in Northern Virginia
I believe that one spa center here has a program for facial hair- 6 treatment $675. But they say come in for consult. Does electrolosis have a better success rate then laser? I want to get rid of some scaly bumps on my back and legs too, that doesn't seem to be medical anymore sigh, PCP just shrugged them off. I'm on hormone treatment to reduce estrogen so things are going to go from bad to worse.
