So far, about 3 months, well, depending on what counts as a "period". I had something in December that was kinda-sorta-light-period"ish" lol... so, I don't know if a doctor would say it was. Before that, September -- so... maybe 5 months, maybe 3.
I am praying for it though, as the weight comes off.
Hello, I am new to this forum, I have PCOS too, its been 7 months and counting and no period. I have been off Metformin for almost an year due to another personal issue. However when I was regular on Metformin my periods had become regular.
I didn't get my period from December 08' until March 09'. Scary thing. That's how I got diagnosed with PCOS (also finally a Dr. who knew what they were doing). When I finally got it, it lasted from March until April when the Dr. put me on yasmine. She told me that all the build up was not good so it was possible to have continuous bleeding after you finally start.
It's been almost 18 months since I've last gotten mine. The doctors cannot put me on birth control to help because I get severe migraines from even the lowest dose [I am prone to migraines.] I'm just getting worried because I've read a few articles about early-onset menopause. And since I lost my job in June, I am not able to afford a doctors visit and I don't have health insurance, so I feel ****-out-of-luck.
Jaimie, that can't be any fun at all I know how stressful that can be. However, 18 months is a long time. Is there any way you can call a clinic in your area or a planned parenthood to get checked out? It's so hard to know where to start or what to do when you don't have insurance or a job. I feel your pain.
The longest I went without AF was when I was 24. I went 11 months without it. I should have seen my doctor though because when I did get it I ended up in the ER from hemorraging.
They had to give me a D&C and then after that if I went more than 3 or 4 months I had to call my doctor for provera to jumpstart my period.
In 2005 I went four months without it and it turned out I was pregnant! After we had our daughter my cycle was normal for about three months and then I got pregnant again. After our second daughter was born my cycle normalized for about a year and now that she is 3 years old, I am sort of on a sometimes once a month, sometimes once every two months schedule.
I went as long as 2 years when I gain a lot of weight. The last one I had was 1 year ago. I was a yo yo dieter in the past. Now I know a lot about my health and have lost 38lbs this past year. I have been cramping that feels exactly like menstrual cramps on and off, but I have no period. Have anyone experience this. I am not pregnant. I just had my blood test results come back and they were all normal as well as a pap smear and a a1c of 5. No pain. I was tested for FSH, LH, TSH, T3, T4, and estrodiol. There might be more but these are the ones i can recall off hand. I have also had pink discharge and spotting when I wipe the whole month last month. The first week was for 4 days, the 2nd week was for 3, the 3rd week was for 1 day and the 4th week was for 3 days and now it stopped. Im 5'3, irregular periods, highest weight was 247 now i am down to 209 if that helps. Thanks in advance.
Mine has been missing for at least a year and a half. I'm pretty positive it's because I'm in my biggest weight range right now. When I was in the 240's it was about 2-4 times per year and when I had (once upon a time) gotten to around 200 pounds I was cycling about every 7 weeks. I can't wait to get it back.
I have 3-4 periods a year and they last 2 months usually. And they are very heavy with clots and cramps and lots of pain. I am on provera now to try to stop the bleeding because I got anemia and deformed red blood cells from lack of iron in my blood from all the period bleeding. So far I have not stopped bleeding and I've been taking provera for a week and a half. Here's hoping!
