It's so exciting to see so many people checking in lately! I'm back on track again, but let me tell you...the scale really punished me for my transgressions! I'm not happy with myself at all. I just keep wondering "When will I learn?". But I can't dwell on that, so I'm just going to push through it. It only took 2 days to put those lbs on, but WHY does it take so long to take it off!?!

Default Ir Diet

Hello Everyone

I really don't know if this is the diet for me or I just need to stick with it longer. I followed than plan for almost 2 weeks and I gained 3 pounds. From most of the post that I have read on the internet about the IR diet, the first week is when the majority of the weight loss happened. Actually it's that way with diets in general I think. Well, agian I don't know if I should move on or what. Any advise?

I don't really know what it could be. It could be that you need to see your dr, or maybe you need to make sure that you are only eating when you are hungry, and stopping when you're satisfied. Are you sure that everything is correctly linked and balanced and that you're portion sizes are correct? Also make sure that you're eating lower fat proteins.

I'm still kind of new to this. All I know is that this is literally the only thing is working for me. I wish that I could offer more help. Maybe some of the more experienced IR folks will have more to offer.

Hey! I haven't been able to get to the computer lately for "fun" stuff. We've been re-arranging furniture and doing other home updates over the last week. I just had to share though, I was feeling really down because even though I've been working my butt off around the house and outside, I haven't been able to get on the treadmill as much as I would like. I got on the scale this morning and was down 9lbs.!! Today at school, I walked around the school so much for different mtgs. that I put a blister on my foot and I wanted to wear khaki pants tomorrow so I could wear my flats. I haven't worn a pair of khaki pants in a year. So I thought, what the heck, I put them on a minute ago and they FIT!!! I really never thought I would fit into these pants again! I feel like there is hope after all!! I hope you guys are having a great week.

I weighed in this morning and I have lost 4 lbs! It didn't take long to undo the damage that I did last weekend when I got out of control. I am not going to let that happen again.

Default Ir Diet

Hi Deborah

The one thing that you mentioned that I think may apply is.... eating lower fat proteins. I may have to re-check that one thanks.

Kim: CONGRATULATIONS!!!! keep up the good work.

Default Ir Diet

Debrorah: On the 4lbs. I had to let you know, maybe I thoguht the IR diet wasnt working but it must be. They always say don't rely on the scale so much, well...... I tried on some uniform pants (work in a hospital) that could not fit at all. Well now I have plenty of room. I have been exercising also.

It's funny you said that because I have noticed that my clothes are fitting me differently and I know that 4 measly pounds on someone my size wouldn't make any difference at all! CONGRATULATIONS!

I so know what you mean. On another board I asked the question about weight loss vs inch loss, you hear so much about inch loss being more important. Well I guess now I know first hand about the inch loss. I think I have been going back and fourth with the same 3 or 4 lbs for little bit now. Like you said thats not what helped me get in those pants.

Congrats to all on the weight loss. Inches do count so that is good.
Hey all. Doing a little better..went to er because of sinus problems. Since I cannot take any decongestants it makes it hard for me to get rid of stuff. The dr. gave me some meds and I slept like a baby last night. I had not been able to breath very well so last night made a difference for me.
Not much new here but am glad that the weekend is here. The last 3 days have been long. It seem like when we have a few days off the rest of the work week seems long. Oh well. That part is done. Dh had surgery on friday so we will see what happens.

I am so SO frustrated. The scale has been up 4 lbs the past two days...back to where I was. WHAT is going on with me? I have been gaining and losing the same 4-5 lbs for about three months. I'm so frustrated that I just want to cry.

I just read angelmomma's reply to my post on the lowcarbfriends bbs. Maybe I have been taking in more carbs than I thought from salad dressing. I have been eating a lot of salads from fast food restaurants which are kind of high on the carb count anyway. I've also been eating carrots w/dressing with my meals without counting the carbs in the dressing. I will try to be more careful with that and see if that helps. I'm really getting frustrated though because I felt as though I was being so careful.

I'm feeling really lonely here guys! Where are you all? I really hope that everyone comes back!!

I let myself get way off track AGAIN because I got so discouraged. I learned a couple of things though, so it wasn't all bad. I realized how bad I feel when I don't follow this plan of eating AND I saw my fasting glucose rise closer to 100. SO whether I am able to lose weight or not (which I PRAY that I am able to do) at least I can keep my glucose under control with this plan. I also made an appointment with my gyn for a complete physical. I'm also trying to find an endo that will aggressively treat my symptoms and not just what my 'normal' blood work shows. That is not going to be easy. My physical is not until the 30th of March (ugh). In the meantime, I am going to keep following this plan and try to feel as good as I can.
