HELP! What am I doing wrong??

Ok...I started my Nutrisystem diet almost 2 weeks ago. Last Thursday, after one week on the diet, I weighed in 10 lbs less!! WooHoo!! Then....all of a sudden...I weigh in today and I am back UP 4 lbs!!!! I am eating everything I am supposed to. I watch my calories meticulously to make sure I don't go over. Why did I gain?????? I am starting to get discouraged. Somebody help me!! Any advice? :?:

Hi Champagn

Don't let the gain discourage you. You still lost alot of weight. My first week I lost 7lbs the after that it slowed to about 2lbs a week. But a few weeks ago I went about 2 weeks with no weight loss at all. I know that when you don't see the numbers move on the scale or you see them go up it can really take the motivation out but don't let it. Keep going & working hard. It will definately pay off. Make sure you're drinking all your water... that's very important. Good luck!

The exact same thing happened to me. I lost 9 lbs the first week , then Nothing, I gained back 4 lbs too, it was so discouraging as I was also doing everything right. The 3rd week I lost the 4 lbs, but was still only down 9lbs in 3 weeks, so not to happy. But this week when I weighed in I had lost another 3, so just keep doing what you are doing. I was a yo yo dieter, as I think many people are. I think our bodies are just in shock and it takes time for them to adjust, our brains are trying to hold onto every last fat cell we have. LOL Don't be discouraged, if you stay on the plan , you have to lose weight. Good luck

The reason why is because the large weight loss most people achieve in their first week on a plan is partially because of the shock to your body. Mainly that big loss is water, less food being carried around in your digestive tract, and so forth. You do not lose 9-10 pounds of fat in one week.

No one did anything wrong. Just keep weighing in once a week, and it will start to go down again-a safe rate of weight loss after the "body shock" is 1/2 to 2 pounds per week.

I lost 4 lbs...then gained 3 and 1/2 back after an all day eating stuff I should not have. I realised that it must be water...and lo ... I lost like 7 lbs. I know though that my next weigh in...I will probably go up a little.

Water is so much fun. Not!

Hey, I am right there with ya, The first week I lost 4.6 then a few days later I was down another pound, then the next weigh in I was back up 2 pounds. very discouraging. I haven't been exercising so I guess I need to get my butt off the couch and go walk. It does make me feel better to know that others are experiencing the same up and down, I thought it was just me. screwing up another diet.
