Choking down all that water!
How do I do this?!
I have never never been a water drinker, and I rarely drink other liquids throughout the day, I know I should be drinking more, and I know I have to when I start my Medifast/WonderSlim program at the end of the month...
help please!

I am currently on Medifast but started the healthy water habit some time ago. Here is how I get mine in:
I have a 16 oz cup on the counter. I fill it and drink that first thing in the morning. I have another cup at every meal. If I get hungry I have a cup then as well. I also drink plain teas so add more water.
I have a page with water tips on my blog as well if you're interested: Drink Your Water

Thanks for replying Lyn, I really appreciate it! I wish I could just chug liquids but I have a hard time swallowing anything fast, so unfortunately I drink and eat very slowly, I'll be sure to check out your page...

Honestly, I wish I could help, but I've personally always been a water person.
I even drank it with cereal for goodness sakes!
Now that I'm trying to lose weight though, I try to drink more. What seems to help me with the water intake is drinking water quickly. You said you have trouble chugging it, so this probably wouldn't help you. I do think it would help if you drank it with all your meals, like Lyn said.
I probably haven't helped much at all, but I do wish you good luck

I rarely drink anything other than water now, but years ago it was coffee and coke Perhaps starting small, like a wine or whisky glass a couple of times a day, and/or using a straw. I had a really bad time switching from coffee to water so I used a fresh lemon and squeezed just a smidgen in the water before drinking and I filter my water so it tastes good, cold and cheap too.
Good Luck

I like drinking ice cold water with a staw. I got a 54 ounce jug and it gets refilled while I'm at work (at least 3-4 times). For dinner I'll have a 8 ounce water with a crystal light so I have some flavor at least at one point during the day.

I hate to say it, but I couldn't stand water at all until a few years ago. I finally could get it down by adding a cap full of lemon juice or throwing in a lemon wedge when I actually had real lemons. And drink it with a straw so that it doesn't hurt the enamel on your teeth.

thanks for all the replies!
so the water thing is getting better, I'm up to about 50oz a day of pure water split up into 10oz increments with about 1-2oz of Crystal Light or sugar free kool aid mixed in.
I find that when I drink straight crystal light, it tastes so much sweeter to me, hallelujah!
I would love to be able to drink water by itself, so if I put a drop of lemon juice and a drop of liquid splenda in my water, will that count as just water to my body?
I feel like adding a bit of flavor to the water is cheating... is that weird?

I don't think adding flavor to water is weird at all! I LOVE to drink Chape s/f kool-aid (it's a gallon of water w/ a cherry and a grape packet mixed in) I generally drink 1/2 gallon or more a day of it..but like you plain old water - no thanks!!

I have to schedule my water - I drink almost an entire 16oz bottle in the morning with my vitamins, then another with lunch. I make sure that I finish that second bottle before I finish lunch. Then, I drink one more before the end of the day, one with dinner, and one with my night vitamins (I take a LOT of vitamins).
That's ten servings of water - as long as I plan it, I can do it.
