Jenny Craig

Hi everyone,

I've been maintaining my weight for about 2 or 3 years, except for one brief loss where I gained it back plus a couple extra.

I think I need more structure. I also think I am perimenopausal, and am having some tests and blood work done. I do exercise, but I know my eating is not structured enough. I sometimes run out of healthy food and turn to junk, or I binge.

I have seen the increase in the JC commercials. I always thought it cost around $100 a week. I had one friend who did it and rapidly gained the weight back, but maybe this is the exception? Can someone give me a quick rundown on it, current costs, (do you have to spend $100?), and how the program works. I have done WW in the past, but want to try something more structured.

Thanks for any input

I looked it up because I was confused by their marketing ploys, such as $1 more than you spend at the store, seems there's a big membership fee plus their food will run you 7 0r 8 hundred more than nutrisystem, definitely not for me. For now its back to my daily plate and lots of exercise. In the future if I can afford it I might consider nutrisystem.

Stay away from any place with a membership fee, trust me.... that's all I can say about that. It'd be best if you surf around the forums and see what works for other people. Get familiar and you'll find someone whom you can identify with (size wise, same goals, etc.) and be able to generate a good idea for which program to go that way.

Thanks for the reply. I was immediately turned off by their deceptive practices.
It has terrible reviews on the web.

Honestly, I love JC. I don't like that they are secretive about pricing, but I can understand why they are.

When people see (for example) $500 for a month of food, they might think 'no way! too expensive' but when you break it down:
$500 = 1 month
$125 = per week (4 weeks)
$17.86 = per day
$4.46 = per meal (3 meals and 1 snack)

and I didn't take out for the cost of shipping. Your food costs (with Jenny) depend on what you're ordering. Different meals cost different amounts (Which makes sense. A bag of cereal shouldn't cost as much as a frozen meal with pancakes and veggie sausage)

I'll tell you more about the program if you want, but if not that's fine too. It isn't for everyone.
