Hi ladies! Sorry I haven't checked in here in a while. For some reason I thought I did. lol
Medeis, yes, I was talking about the Ellen Degeneres show. Every year she does The 12 Days of Giveaways in December and when we went to her show in February of this year, at the end of the show she invited us all back for one of the 12 Days shows. The audience (us included) went nuts...hugging, screaming and crying. She usually gives away between $1,500 to $3,500 worth of gifts in each show.
On the show we went to, she gave away some great prizes: a Kindle Fire HD, a Sol Republic Wireless speaker, Dr Dre Executive Beats Headphones, a Fitbit watch, a $300 Visa gift card and a $500 Radio Shack gift card! So, with the Radio Shack gift card combined with the Visa gift card, we will finally be able to get a new tv because ours has been nearly unwatchable for the last few months and just getting worse and worse. The rest of the items, although great, I don't really need, so I'm selling them on eBay. I'm hoping to make enough to do my Christmas shopping. I know it won't be enough for the blender I want, but getting Christmas gifts without having to use a credit card for once is a blessing!!
Here's a face weight loss collage I made from when my daughter and I first went to Ellen and on December 9th. I'm happy my eyes are looking bigger and my double chin is going away...
Lyn, so glad to see you back here! And I'm happy that you are back on track. So many people this time of year give up completely and just say they'll start over at the beginning of the year. So you are way ahead of those people.
The 1200 menu was a little hard for me at first with hunger, but I am so used to it now. If I go overboard a bit with the calories, it is amazing how uncomfortably full I'll feel for a couple of hours. I love how our bodies adapt to what we put them through.
Lemondroplet, yes, Medeis it correct. I used to work at Jenny Craig, and I don't understand why that person told you that you can't pick up the food at your center; you totally can! But, given the choice, if you're up for it, it's beneficial to go in. It helps to keep you more accountable to be weighed in on their scale and the consult helps to re-inspire you for the week. It's up to you though. I actually do the at-home program myself, only because being that I used to work there, I know exactly everything that the consultant would tell me, so it would feel a little weird to me. lol Also, please join us in the www.jennycraig.com forum and sign up for the Christmas challenge here: http://community.jennycraig.com/inde...B%26-12290%3B/ Even though Christmas is only about 2 weeks away, still sign up. It really helps to give you extra inspiration and motivation. Plus, right after that one ends, I'll be putting up the Valentine's Day challenge, which will be a nice, long 7-week challenge.
I was a tad bummed to have gone up 0.2 on the scale yesterday for my official weigh in day. But it's only the second time I've had a small gain on weigh in day in the 31 weeks I've been on Jenny. Plus, I already took that 0.2 off plus another 0.2 on this morning's weigh in, so YAY!
I've got a busy next 3 days, so excuse me if you don't check in. I'll be decorating, cleaning, grooming my poodle and going to my nephew's school play today. On Saturday I'll be baking cookies for my sister's Christmas Cookie exchange party on Sunday (where I plan on ONLY having 2 cookies for my snack that day) and taking our Christmas pictures and mailing them out. Then Sunday my husband and I have our weekly movie date day, followed by the cookie exchange party, then I have to come home and bake a cake for my husband's boss's birthday the next day. Lord! I'm exhausted just reading all that!!
Have a great Friday all and a beautiful weekend!
