and then not to have to fix it ouselves

leeway, for me, this is definitely the biggest plus to doing meal delivery! I have lost most of my weight thus far on a hybrid of WW and calorie counting. To not have to sit there, measure and/or weigh everything out, add up cals and points, cook it, etc etc. Not to mention constantly having to keep a mental log in my head of how many points/cals I've used so far and how many I have left for the day. My day revolved around my diet. Deciding to treat myself to DTG has taken a lot of stress out of my life. =)
Furthermore, and this prob puts me in the minority, but I like how the program has no snacks. Just three solid meals. I know when I finish my dinner around 7/730 that's it for the night. No light deserts, no 10 o'clock low-fat popcorn that's supposed to curb my appetite but only tempts me even more. I'm done and I can't have any more food till the next day.

Hi Jan,
I like the basic three meals too - with no snacks or leftovers to tempt me either. I'm fixing my own breakfast now but that's easy to do and control. I just don't buy anything to have in the house - just my meals from DTG, some eggs & some frozen veggies.
I used to joke with my friends, when these celebrities would lose weight so quickly and easily, that I could lose weight too if I had all my meals fixed for me & I didn't have to make any decisions, or shop or cook. Well, I guess that's what I have now with DTG and it's working!
Talk to you later - take care!

I've been MIA but am still 100% on plan. This Thursday (Turkey Day) will be 4 weeks of doing DTG. The past two weeks I've lost 1.5 and 1.6 respectively. Total loss = 6.6 lbs. WOOHOO!
Next weigh-in is Thursday. I had debated if I was going to go off plan for Thanksgiving and have decided that I will eat my DTG breakfast as usual and then have a helping of food at my mother's in place of my other two meals.
Fingers crossed for crossing into the 130s by the end of the month!

Jan,
Congrats on your success so far - that's great - I'm sure you'll reach your goal before you know it!
It's hard to believe how quickly the time goes by - I'm glad that it has worked out well for you - I think it's really worth it - I am very pleased with my progress as well and especially how easy it has been to stay on track.
I hope you and yours had a very nice Thanksgiving - keep up the good work and keep me posted on how you're doing - your ticker will be at 130 soon!

Hi Sandylew!
Glad to have you here - our ranks have waned - nice to have you on board. I'm on the low carb, too (since the end of Sept. - I have lots to lose) And have found it very easy to stick to. I have also lost over 50 pounds so far ( maybe more, don't know exactly my starting weight).
Good luck - I'm sure you'll like the plan - let me know what you think.
All the best,
Lee

Thanks leeway and Jazzi!
I can't wait until my shipment arrives. I have been yoyoing for quite awhile now. I've been going to a personal trainer for 5 weeks and haven't lost a lb, so I hope this will jump start my weight loss. I'm sure I will need a afternoon snack before I work out; I'm looking for low carb snacks that will have more than just meat and veggies. Any suggestions?

Welcome Jazzi - great to have another new friend here!
Sandylew: snacks beyond meat and veggies are a little limited, especially since I'm watching the calories and the carbs but here are some of the things I always keep around:
Claussen Kosher Dill Spears (they're extra crunchy and don't have any added sugar)
SugarFree Jello (always have it ready in the fridge)
String Cheese (and other bar cheese like Jack - I cut them in 1 oz slices for a quick bite & sometimes put a dab of Dijon on it & eat with a pickle)
SugarFree DaVinci Syrup* (or Torani) - I'm not really a coffee person but since I found these syrups I make a cup and add some (like choclate & raspberry, Toffee flavor or others) for a dessert drink - no calories no carbs - (my friend uses the raspberry in her green tea) - it comes in a dozen or more flavors.
For something a little more substantial, I keep Joseph's Pita Bread* (1/2 is 30 calories & 2 carbs) and Mama Lupe's Tortillas* ( 60 calories 3 carbs) to make mini " hot pockets" or low carb burritos. I make mini pizza fillings (low carb pasta sauce*, a few chopped artichoke hearts or some turkey pepperoni, some parmesan - you get the idea - a liitle of this and that) & zap it for a minute or put in the toaster oven. I use the tortillas (toasted for a few minutes in the toaster oven) for burritos - sometimes I zap some eggbeaters in a mug (sprayed with Pam), add some salsa, maybe a little cheese or peppers and roll it up in the tortilla - I keep some turkey hot dogs, turkey bacon or some other lowfat meat, roll it in the tortilla with some mustard and top with Claussen Sauerkraut (it's really crisp & mild) and I feel like I'm really cheating! I use ingredients that keep it to under 100 calories.
You just have to get used to thinking in carbs and calories and read, read, read the labels and the serving sizes - that's what can really mess you up!
Hope this helps a bit - let me know if you come up with any good ideas yourself - we need to stick together and help each other through!
Talk to you both later,
Lee
*I get these items at Netrition online (good prices & a flat shipping rate -$4.95 no matter how much you order or what it weighs) - you probably can find them or similar items at stores in your area - the pasta sauce I get is Bella Vita (it tastes like homemade) - I've read on a post here that the Joseph's Pita may be at WalMart.

Hi everyone! Well today I decided to order diet to go. I lost a ton of weight awhile back and have been struggling to lose these last 30 pounds forever. I'm rather sick of counting calories and what not and decided to give this a go because of the convenience plus the food sounded really good. I should be getting my first order soon and am excited to try it.

Hello everyone! I have been doing ediets fresh prepared meal delivery plan for 6 months. I have had success on it, but I am getting bored with the food. So, today, I took a leap of faith and ordered DTG. I look forward to hearing about everyone's experience with the food!
Cheers,
J

Hi Lee! I decided to start with the Low Fat plan..I need to lose around 30 pounds and actually all the foods on every plan sound really good and I think I may just end up trying them all if I like the food. I actually wanted to do the low carb but can't really afford the extra 25 dollars every week right now but should be able to next month when I get my tax refund so will try it in the future. Anyways, I should get my first order on thursday and looking forward to it.
