Default Overeating... daily

Hi, all. This is my first post here. I am severely lacking motivation and discipline and hoping to gain some insight and drive. My diet is poor and I have gained roughly 60 pounds in 4 years. I just don't know where to start or how to say no or what to do... I am feeling helpless. I hate being such a whiner and feeling out of control but when it comes to my weight and eating, that's how it is.

My husband is overweight, too. He tries to get my motivated and tries to help, but I know this is all within myself.

But how?

Help.

It would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, HB -

This is a forum for members of Overeaters Anonymous. If your problem is compulsive overeating, then it might be the right approach for you. It is not a diet plan - you can pick pretty much any eating plan that you want and use it in conjunction w/ OA. What OA does is help you to address the reason why you overeat. The approach is similar to Alcoholics Anonymous - we follow 12 steps. Here are a couple of links to check out for more information:

The Recovery Group

The Recovery Group is a group within OA that has a lot of info for people looking to find out about the program. Good luck, and if you have questions, post them here - I'll come back and answer.
