Where R the OA People?
Are most of the OA people on another forum somewhere? Since I live in a small community there really isn't a lot of OA meeting around here. Actually I only know of one in probably a 60 mile radius.
When I lived in a larger community I was an OAer. I have met some of my dearest friends at OA. I like the OA honesty...where I can share and still be loved for me.
Interesting that the Overeaters Anonymous is put under the title :Chicks in Control: My idea of 12 step groups is WE aren't in control...we give that up to a higher power.
Those are my thoughts...

Cathy, I'm back after a while away from OA, never far away from AA though. I came to realize just how powerless I am over my food addiction and expecially sweets. I am out of control and need to get back to OA before I get so far out of control there is no coming back.
Today I am reading step 1 and crying when I think of what I have done to my body and how unhappy I am with my body.
I am at the stage of being very humble and asking for help.

I read what you wrote more than once. Left this thread and came back. Food addiction is so hard...can you imagine taking one drink a day? But we have to eat. I have said over and over I wish I could "just not eat" I am in an area where there isn't OA meetings. When I lived in a larger city I was very active. I have met some of my dearest friends in OA. Food is my drug of choice. With AA I had issues with the smoking and eating sugar all over the place. The big book means a lot to me. Rarely have we seen a person fail...
Keep coming back to 3FC. I have met wonderful people and really feel at home here. This is a great place to learn, grow and share.

I'm on my way to an online meeting, then going to plan my food plan for the day, yesterday I did good and bad, ate meals good, ate a whole bag of english toffee bad.
Today is another day.

I'm in OA, have been for a few months (after a few other attempts), I just haven't been to 3fc lately.
I swear, OA saved me over the holidays.

Hey there! I'm Kitty. I live in Rural India.... NO meetings here for me to attend. I am getting ready to start the Gray Sheet soon. In 2 weeks I'm getting a hernia operation, so no major changes till after surgery.
The surgeon almost talked me into getting my stomach stapled while he's in there fixing my hernia...I was going for it till I woke up one morning and remembered the Gray Sheet, someone gave me years ago...(I filed it away not ready to go to that extreme back then) I woke up and realized, If I'm willing to consider something extreme as stapling... I'm ready to join O.A.
I need this. I don't have O.A. Mtgs I can go to, so online support is the key for me. I've been here at 3fc off and on for years... Happy to find this group! Look foward to getting to know you all.

Have you found the online OA meetings? I don't know if there are phone meetings in India, but I could ask someone if you'd like.

there is also online meetings that you can attend, which are a big help to me when i can't make it to a meeting.

Today i ate better than i have in quite a while, i am thinking healthy foods. i have been separated from DH for 2 months now and I'm finally learning how to cook just for me. Its hard to cook just for 1 person, trying to get the thought to stick that I am work cooking for.
I hope everybody has a great on plan weekend.
Tomorrow night in meeting night, i sure need it.
