I've dropped another half lb to 188.5! C'mon 186! That may seem like a strange number but I'm in the August Weight Loss Challenge and I put 186 as my goal for the month, not knowing that my scale was going to be so obstinate lol! I still have 9 days left though! Of course, today is Carb Day, so that could slow things down a little, But can you believe it? I have no treats planned! Carb Day kind of sneaked up on me this week! But I do still have my bag of Nestle GS Thin Mints candy in the fridge, so I imagine I'll have 1 or 2 pieces of that. Also, DH may want to order pizza tonight. He tends to like to do that on Saturday nights. :

Mars, oh my goodness, I am so sorry to hear about your mother! How scary! I'm so glad they figured out the mistake and she is doing much better now. Wow! Yay on the heat keeping your appetite at bay! Wanting to indulge is the one negative about vacation when you're on a diet, and I'm glad the weather is working in your favor, haha! Also the hula hoop is a great idea! Love it! Move those hips, girl! Lol!

Mary, you made me bust out laughing with the "couldn't get to the numbers of Cinderella dressed in yella." What a universal reference, lol! And it makes me want to try it now!

Bewildered, I hope you feel better soon! My kitty's back legs are working much better. Thank you for asking! Wow, 48 degrees in August! I hope you had a great time at the coast.

Carol Sue, thanks! That is fantastic that your DH and you were able to eat at the casino for 32 cents!!! My hubs would be so happy if that happened to us! I love that you are throwing away the hummus you don't like instead of eating it now! That is such a smart move!

Chickadeee, I hope you're having a good Saturday!

PraireQueen, did you enjoy your first week of school? I hope you were able to stick to your planned way of eating!

Rennie, thinking of you! Miss you!

Bewildered, even though I heard that 5 Guys is offering a burger in a bowl, I don't think too many other restaurants do that. I wouldn't worry about what they think. I just order it the way it is and throw the bun away myself. You do have to ask for a knife and fork though, but they should be willing to do that. If they find that more people are doing without the bun they might start offering it that way. We don't have Carls. We used to have Hardees up here in PA but I haven't seen one for a long time. We have Wendy's, McDonald's, Burger King and Sonic for fast food hamburgers and 5 Guys and Red Robin for more high class burgers.

Bewildered, I'm a little concerned because the last time I went to Kroger, they didn't have the Super Detox Veggie Salad. I hope that's not something they were trying out for a while and they're going to discontinue, because it is so convenient! TOM finally decided to come visit me for real, but because of the back and forth for a few days, I feel like it's been going on forever! I'm ready for it to just leave me once and for all, kaput! Love the chattiness!

Carol Sue, I'm surprised to learn that PA doesn't have Hardee's or Carl's Jr. Somehow, Ohio has both.

It's great to read everyone's news! Thank-you for the kind words re my mom. Your support is appreciated each & every day! She will be discharged tomorrow & sounds great. Thank goodness for sibs. Typing on the mobile so pls forgive typos!

Mary, congrats on nearing a decade, with TOM no less. Sounds like your plan is working! Have you started the new school term? My hula hoop goes straight to the ground even though my hips are gyrating like crazy! Maybe I need the expensive one lol.

Carol Sue, I like your approach re taking the stress out of eating, & focusing on health. I like the seasons too. I imagine fall is beautiful where you live. It's nice in CA, but pretty subtle.

Bewildered, Your avatar is stunning! Did you take that picture? You have had a long adventure. Will you be able to do a little sight seeing on the way home? Sorry you had a foggy day on the coast, and smoky???? My friend in Ashland said they no longer even bother to predict an end to the fires.
We had a rain squall yesterday and a flash flood warning popped up on the phone, but it wasn't much at all where I was. Btw, I've had sliced radish sauteed in butter...tastes like potatoes to me, very yummy.

Jacqui, Holy Moly! You didn't even have a blip from Carb Day!

Chickadeee, as usual your meals sound delicious.

I'm settled into hotel for a few days in birder's heaven. I ened up rqing a room with a kitchenette. I was getting stressed out about food. There is a store in this tiny town in SE Arizona that has things I get at home, even Bubbie's sauerkraut. So here I am on vacation eating almost the same things I usually eat, and starting the day by prepping meals. lol! I'm a happy camper, though. I know I'll have some treats, but now it will be on purpose. (Bewildered, the M&Ms were part of the room welcome--I would have felt deprived if I didn't have a couple. Fortunately they were almost melted and not so tempting.
B eggs, chicken/apple sausage links, whey shake, coffee
L salad, chicken, beans, evoo
S soy nuts, licorice vines, tiny apple
D turkey chili. They didn't have the lean kind & oooh was it tasty! 2 L water & rasberry hibiscus tea.
lazy day due to restless night; 4800 steps

I didn't go up today like I thought I might! Instead I dropped a half lb! Talk about having your (chocolate) cake and eating it (on Carb Day) too! Woohoo! It doesn't get much better than this! I LOVE this way of eating! And the thing is, if I stopped losing weight today, I wouldn't be super thrilled about it, but I have lost over 30 lbs and I feel so much better! I am just so grateful for that!

Bewildered, yay on losing 4 lbs! Lol, I don't know if our eating the exact same would produce the same results, or not! I'd say since you are sick of eggs, you might not like my menu though, haha! I love my 2 eggs in the morning and with the bacon and yogurt, they keep me so filled up that I've gotten by recently with just having yogurt for lunch! Of course, I like my salads for lunch too. I'm not sure if Kroger has stopped carrying the salad I like or if they were just out of it when I last went. The bagged salad, they have. It's the deli salad, which I add to it, that they didn't have. I have to go to the grocery tomorrow, so we'll find out! Wish me luck! Mio Water Enhancer is a water flavoring, kind of like Crystal Light, but in little squirt bottles. On my menu, I say I drink "Mio water." but it doesn't come already prepared. I have to add the Mio to the water. Mio Fit, which has more vitamins than regular Mio, is the type I usually buy. In the stores that I frequent, it's in the juice aisle. Oh, and I like your weather man hat, lol!

Bewildered, wow! You are on fire! Congrats on losing another 1.4 lbs! Yeah, it's easy to get sick of a certain kind of food. I'm getting that way with bacon. I think it might be time to rotate in some sausage or ham.

So my cat had a relapse. It's my fault. The vet had given him a shot for his back/legs and some pills for his allergies...or so I thought. When his allergies cleared up, I stopped the pills to give him a break from meds, only the pills were not allergy pills, but continued medication for his legs. I had to take him back to the vet to get another shot. Poor baby. I feel so guilty. The vet tried to make me feel better about it by saying it was an easy mistake because we had talked about treating his allergies and they said the pills would clear them up. It just wasn't clear that the pills were prednisone for his back, not meds for his allergies. Still, I feel terrible about it. Thankfully, he's doing better. He's wobbly but at least he's back up in his feet. He's not allowed to jump off the furniture, so you ought to see my family room, lol! I have the cushions and pillows from my parlor couch and chair on the floor surrounding the family room couch and chairs. My grandson would have a ball in here!

I hope everyone is doing wel and having a great dayl!

Bewildered, thank you for your support! Yes, it was confusing, but I'll feel better again once Ichabod can walk without wobbling. Here's a pic of him. This is what he does when I get on the computer, lol! Even now, I have the computer on only one side of my lap because he's draped over the other side, just purring away as I pet him. He looks a little mean in the pic but he is such a LOVERBOY. The vet even commented about about how he was purring away on the examining table. He's my sweet boy.

I prefer the grape Mio, although that's not really a fair assessment. I have never tried the berry. You see, from the bottle it looks blue, and I have this quirky aversion to blue foods and drinks. (I eat blueberries only because they're really purple, lol!)

So the hubs and I ate at the casino tonight. Even though I had no carbs other than non-starchy veggies, it will be interesting to see what my weight does with all the sodium they add!

Hi Ladies!
Jacqui, so glad Ichabod is again on the mend. What a sweet looking kitty.

Bewildered, WTG on the downward trend!!!! Sounds like crisp fall weather. Here we have thunderstorms for an hr in the afternoons, while it's 80 degrees.

Meals have been the same. Tomorrow. I am moving to a B n B. There is a communal refrig and BBQ, so I should be ok. Except they put out fresh baked cookies or pie each afternoon. My plan is to have a bite if it looks good.

Mars and Bewildered, thanks! He is a very loved kitty!

Mars, the B&B sounds nice! Nothing wrong with a cookie here and there on vacation. Just keep it moderate and you'll be fine!

Bewildered, lol! I'm afraid 'd have to be pretty tipsy already to try blue gorilla punch, haha!

Chickadeee, Carol Sue, Rennie, Mary, PrairieQueen, where y'all at? Lol!
