Yeah Rennie you are doing great. I mean, you are down around 6pds in one week. That is great!!!

Thanks for the support everyone! I am glad I've been logging my weight to the ounce in Myfitness pal, because I went down nearly a pound today and when I look at my record this past week I have lost a solid 4 pds since Monday. I consider that a win...even though it was slow!

Today is my cheat day. I finish my online Dietbet on Sunday and you have 24 hours to submit evidence of weight loss to win the bet, so I wanted a couple of days to lose the cheat day weight gain.

B - Protein shake made with almond milk, protein powder and frozen blueberries
S - 1/2 bagel with low fat cream cheese
L - (maybe a shortie hoagie or I'll skip and save it for dinner)
D - (plans for dinner and drinks at a restaurant to celebrate my daughter's promotion!)

By the way, just booked a vaca to Punta Cana with the boyfriend the week of Feb 24th, so here's more motivation to stick to plan!

Great job Gary! And Rennie you are doing great, keep moving forward! Missy Great job on the 4 pound loss! My gf got me the wrong almond milk! Vanilla. But it's okay. Still better than full fat milk! I tend to do what you do and log my day onto My Fitness pal because sometimes I eat breaded things and don't want to go overboard! Anyway, the WHOOSH FAIRY showed up! And i'm super happy to keep moving forward on this journey with you all! I am stocked on groceries too so no fast food today for me!

Week 1:
1/4: 397.8 (beer and brandy with my dad!)
1/5: 398.8 (evening weigh in!)
1/6: 394.2 (Peanut butter binge, pizza, bread, pasta, soda, ugh!)
1/7: 396.8 (I also ended the day with a handful of frozen, baked french fries with ketchup and a few flamin hot cheetos)
1/8: 393.4 (A lot of breaded chicken!)
1/9: 393.2 (Had more carbs than usual but not overboard)
1/10: 390.8

That is a 7 pound weight loss my first week, I am excited! And with me skipping my cheat day because i've cheated somewhat already trying to get things right, I am looking forward to another great week next week and my "official cheat day." This forum is very motivating and encouraging knowing I can come here and speak with you all. Please keep posting and even when you struggle keep coming here. We can all pull through this together right?

Dt, yay on the big whoosh! Isn't that fun?! 7 lbs! Good for you! Fantastic decision concerning cheat day, btw. And I agree, I do hope everyone keeps coming here to post, whether they are faltering or not, because we really do want to help each other out through the ups and down. That's what good forum friends are for!

Gary, another drop, woohoo! Keep going!

Rennie, oh, that little tinge of water weight is nothing! You got this! You are doing so well!

Missy, woohoo on the 4 lbs down ! Have a fun, fabulous cheat day!

Today's Meals:

Dinner: 10 mild chicken wings, water

Aw thanks Gary on your weigh in

Thanks Missy you had a great week also 4lbs is great.

dt Woot!! Look at you great job there! 7lbs you did well

Thanks Jacqui . I just love the sound of those unwraps. I'll remember to ask specially for that when I finally have the money to get one . Money is so tight right now .

I do need to work on eating more but it's just so hard right now. And I honestly do get full on what I eat. But like Jacqui and Missy said I 'm gonna have to eat more so my exercise isn't counteractive. Ah the joys of weight loss My son just made fries and poured on the ketchup I'm drooling but I didn't have not a ONE

I just found the alternative to pizza, a Morning Star Farms tomato & basil pizza burger really good.

just finished adding up my eats today … 4280mg of sodium … not good for a weigh in with no workout

I've downed 3 bottles of water … huh I wonder why

Rennie, ooo, that Morning Star Farms tomato and basil pizza burger sounds good! And yes, the unwraps are delish! I hear you on the money though. If we hadn't been out of town for an appointment, we would have been eating at home!

I bumped back up to 170 this morning. Not surprising! Yesterday, I didn't have the usual amount of water or green tea that I drink in a day, so that's probably why I'm holding water. (I know I'm sure thirsty this morning!) Plus I had some wings later than usual last night. But hey, it's not all doom and gloom! Today is cheat day, lol!

Week 26:
1/11: 170 Cheat Day
1/12:
1/13:
1/14:
1/15:
1/16:
1/17:

Breakfast: blueberries topped with cool whip (oh my, that's like heaven in a spoon!), spiced pumpkin cupcake with cream cheese icing, a teapot of green tea, Mio water
Lunch: 2 triangles of chicken quesadilla with salsa, some fried dill pickle rounds, sweet tea
Snacks: 10 mint truffle kisses, 1 single pkg of mint M&M's, 3 mini Reese's cups
Dinner: a bowl of spaghetti and meat sauce, blueberries and cool whip, a teapot of green tea, Mio water

LOL Jacqui if I could find something to eat that taste like a chip or cracker but isn't a chip or cracker I think I would be in heaven. That's the only other thing that I want most days because the people around me at work snack all day, and I mean all day. They live at those snack machines, smh.

Gary, you're not gonna leave us after you reach goal are you?

Yesterday around 2:30ish I had a taste for Froot Loops. I could actually smell them. I thought that was the craziest thing. Then when I got home my son had fried some chicken thighs I don't know how many times I just stopped and stared at that chicken sitting on top of the microwave but I didn't touch any. I am doing pretty good though still mentally strugging

B ~ 2 eggs fried with spray butter sprinkled with cheddar after they were cooked, green tea

Week 2 of 5

08 ~ 173.4 (+0.8) LTTM
09 ~ 173.0 (-0.4) LTTM
10 ~ 173.2 (+0.2)
11 ~ 173.4 (+0.2)

Rennie, your determination has been wonderful! Keep it up! Oh, and I've been meaning to ask, is chicken a trigger for you, or does it have too many calories (since you are tracking calories)? Why do you not allow yourself to eat chicken? When I first started this diet, I bought some bbq pork rines to wean myself off chips. The taste took a little getting used to, but it worked! Sweets are my real weak spot, but if I ever had a craving for something chippy-crunchy, I'm sure I would reach for pork rines again.

Gary, be sure not to go too low on those calories, especially doing cardio. You don't want to stall your metabolism! Great job on sticking with it!

Joe, yay on being 2 lbs down! And HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

Joe, we were posting at the same time … Good job on the 2lbs HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO YOU AND THE MRS. 32 years Congratulations

Jacqui, no not a trigger food, just one of the things I gave up during the consecration. I may add it back in on the 16th. My sons chicken is a trigger food because of the batter and too much sodium. Adding the chicken back in may help with moving the rest of these pounds . I forgot about pork rinds, but I think I would count them as a snack and a meat. So maybe on the 16th Advice for me also ---> be sure not to go too low on those calories, especially doing cardio. You don't want to stall your metabolism!

I had my cheat day yesterday and I gained less than a pound! I kept it light during the day and my dinner was really rich so I didn't eat a lot of it, but I had some yummy apple cider martinis at the restaurant and two fresh baked rolls. I had wished I got the chicken sandwich and fries, instead of the rich carbonara, but given my results on the scale I am pleased. I think my caribbean trip is really inspiring me! When I went to Punta Cana last year I was at least 8 pds lighter than I am now.....but that is going to change!

Hang in there Gary. I hate it when it goes slow, but maybe it's because you are not eating enough calories? You could bump it up a day and see what happens? Plus you don't want to lose muscle do ya?

Enjoy your cheat day Jacqui! That pumpkin cupcake sounds delish! What else do you have in store?

Rennie, can you peel off the skin of your sons fried chicken and eat that? I know how you feel though. It's so hard living with teenagers who can cook and eat such decedent foods!!

And good plan dt regarding not doing cheat day yet as you adjust to this diet. Shows awesome willpower and conviction.

So to get back on track I need to lose 4 pds by my Thursday weigh in (I made my own goals calendar). And to win my Dietbet I need to lose about a pound I think by Monday. I think I can do this!!!

LOL Missy on teenagers cooking, that is so true with any and everything they eat . I only buy skinless chicken, I hate the skin, yuck Good for you on the bread, you all are doing so well with your cheat days. I need to read this book and see if I can really stick to plan … Oh my goodness I would love to be 4lbs down by Thursday, for you

So many posts to comment on! I will just say great job to all of you! For your losses, or for your stalls but having enough strength to keep moving forward! I was actually disappointed with my weigh in. I wanted it to be more. But it was still a loss and I am happy I am on my week 2.

Week 2:
1/11: 390.2(no cheat day because of last weeks mistakes)
1/12:
1/13:
1/14:
1/15:
1/16:
1/17:

(edited to say I am cheating like crazy today, I almost feel like giving up)

Not a great day today. Had a bagel with 1/3 less fat philadelphia cream cheese as I was so hungry.

But I just logged my food and even with the dinner we have planned, and the bagel, I have a 500+ plus deficit because I worked out and my breakfast and lunch had little calories. So it's not a Tim Ferris diet day, but it's a low calorie diet day. Must prep some beans for a slow-carb week.

Yeah Rennie, I'm not sure if I'll meet that goal by Thur, but it's good to have goals.

Dt, a drop is a drop! It's so much better than gaining! If you are cheating like crazy today, don't give up. Just count it as an actual cheat day and move forward!

Missy, yay on gaining so little on cheat day! That's pretty amazing! I have gone a little crazy with the candy today, lol! My favorite flavors for sweets (and I have a terrible sweet tooth) are mint chocolate and pumpkin, so you can bet that on every single cheat day I will have one or both. I live in a town that has a huge annual pumpkin festival, and we're all kind of pumpkin-crazy here, so while you can get pumpkin desserts only in the fall most other places, you can get pumpkin desserts here all year round. Btw, way to not let the bagel this morning throw you off. When things like that happen, it's best just to jump back on plan and keep going!

Rennie, ohhh, ok, I forgot about the consecration. You really are doing such a great job! I'm so very proud of you! It's like you made up your mind and did a complete 180! And I'm glad you're also listening to the advice about not going too low on calories during exercise!
